Well, truthfully it's about the same thing deactivating as destroying - because if creeper touches the shield while it's deactivated (not friendly creeper) then it will be destroyed instantly - which means that unless you're deactivating the shield to let friendly creeper through, and anticipate the creeper to somehow overrun the shield again when you reactivate it..?

Yes, this would be the only reason to deactivate a shield (or like for any other unit: to stop it from finishing building to preserve energy or prevent it from being targeted by drones).

How does everyone manage to do overdone days yet still have nowhere near the amount of reactors as me? I look at so many of these and go "wow they excavate a lot more than they needed to."
