Keeper Decagon

Welcome to my custom ship/story thread!

The Hiigara Defence Force is a military organisation dedicated to the protection of our homeworld, Hiigara, and her colonies from extraterrestrial incursions; since the Particulate threat has appeared on the border of the spatial region known as "Redacted Space", we have decided it best to share our vessels with private investors to help protect civilian assets out near Redacted Space.
Below is a basic list of ships that are currently available to the public. Corporations seeking to acquire these ships are advised to respect HDF movements near Redacted Space, without interfering in our military operations. Defiance of this condition will result in immediate destruction of offending vessels. Be warned.

 Frigates

Vengeance Assault Frigate
The standard Kushan frigate that has been in service for a long time; it is a small and effective vessel to use in screening Particulate formations.

Firelance Ion Cannon Frigate
Since the majority of ion weaponry appeared ineffective against Particulates, this frigate has been retooled with multiple exotic particle emitters to combat Stunners as well as slowing Particulates.

Matriarch Support Frigate
This frigate forms the backbone of most smaller combat operations, providing energy to the front line far from Energy Mines.

Kudaark Assault Frigate
Functionally indistinguishable from its Kushan counterpart, the Taiidan Republic assault frigate is also an effective way to overwhelm Particulates when used in large numbers.

Sajuuk-Cor Ion Cannon Frigate
Another obsolete ion-wielding frigate revamped to deal with enemy Stunner threats, with additional plasma-clearing technology integrated for free.

Heeshk Support Frigate
Used by the Taiidan since the old Imperial days, this support frigate is on-par with the Matriarch and makes for a good energy relay vessel.

Specialist Frigates

Puppeteer Drone Frigate
This hefty frigate was originally built in response to large swarms of fighter craft wielded by the Taiidan Empire, though has since become obsolete with the advent of better weapon tracking technology. With the Particulate threat arising, however, the design of this sturdy frigate once again surfaced, and has been optimized for fighting Particulates.

Tiifal Defence Field Frigate
Though unarmed and generally more vulnerable than its armed counterparts, the Tiifal is a powerful addition to any formation as its powerful proton beams allow it to block a vast number of Particulates, as well as sporting a shield generator that beefs this already tough frigate up further. Incredibly useful for shielding and escorting vulnerable Carriers.

 Sub-Capitals

Revelation Destroyer
A machine born out of the fires of war, the Revelation is a heavily armed destroyer with a sizable complement of kinetic weaponry, with its original ion cannons swapped out for additional guns in the light of the Particulate threat.

Perdition Missile Destroyer
This warship is armed with, as you might have guessed, missiles. It was designed to counter fighter swarms that would otherwise harass larger capital ships to no end, inadvertently making it a great counter to Particulate swarms too.

Skaal-Tel Destroyer
The once-powerful symbol of terror of the Skaal-Tel has been largely surpassed by more modern ships, but it remains a staple of the Taiidani Republic's military efforts and has been integrated into the HDF's own fleets as a vital combatant for major operations in Redacted Space.

Skaal-Fa Missile Destroyer
Like its sister ship, the Skaal-Fa remains a vital component of any Taiidan capital fleet, since it provides much-needed anti-fighter support. It may be an old model, but it does its job as well as its Kushan counterpart.

 Capitals

Imperator Carrier
The center of combat operations in Redacted Space other than the HQ, the Imperator Carrier is a terrifyingly powerful ship that can defend itself with its highly effective fighter complement; they act as command relays for the HDF, and can hold its own against all but the most powerful Particulate assaults. That said, its most glaring weakness is its exposed bridge, and must be maneuvered accordingly to protect this vital component.

Saarkin-Cho Carrier
Competing with the Imperator as the prime command carrier, the Taiidani carrier is an old but viable combat vessel that has seen many conflicts. Works great as the core of large taskforces, forming a vital part of the frontline operations alongside its Kushan counterpart. Unfortunately, it shares the same inherent weaknesses of the exposed bridge design.

Imperator-II Command Carrier
Ever since the great Homeworld War, the requirement for a mobile command center to lead the Hiigaran fleets led to the redesign of the successful Imperator-class Carrier into a viable Command HQ away from major installations or subspace beacons that would otherwise coordinate fleets. Sacrificing a Fighter bay as well as space for holding additional energy to make way for the Command Tower, the redesign has had at least one positive effect; as opposed to being vulnerable on the outside of the vessel, the bridge has been integrated into the Command Tower, converting the left-behind superstructure into a Lathe platform.

Super-Capital Ships

Avatar Heavy Cruiser
The most powerful ship in the Kushan arsenal, the Avatar was built as a heavy-weapons platform with the armour and firepower to match that of most military battlestations, whilst remaining mobile and able to evade when necessary. Even a single Avatar can hold off most attacks on its own, and with the dawn of greater tracking technology, it has been optimized for combat against Particulates.

Qwaar-Jet Heavy Cruiser
Few ships in the Taiidan fleet have become as widely-feared as the Qwaar-Jet, a Heavy Cruiser of terrifying power. Unlike most other counterpart pairs between the Taiidan and Kushan fleets, the Qwaar-Jet far surpasses the durability and firepower of the Avatar and was a dreaded combatant during past engagements. The winged design of the Cruiser gave it almost a vulture-like appearance when it moved into battle, making even the steeliest of Commanders shudder in fear as it swooped in to devastate their fleet. Since the start of the Particulate War, the Republic has brought these war machines to bear on them to great effect. No battlefleet that has had a Qwaar-Jet in their midst has yet been lost.

 Stations

Taiidan Supernova Research Station
Though the original design was based around the study of a large supernova near the Outer Rim, this revamped version of this station is heavily armoured and armed to act as a stationary defense for forward outposts and military shipyards. Very effective at holding Particulates, Doppels and cloned vessels at bay.

Tanis Base Defence Platforms
Built on fragments of the Great Derelict, these platforms are designed as defensive structures for planets, shipyards and other major installations, having recently been upgraded with additional weaponry in response to new threats cropping up around Hiigaran space.

Perimeter Station Chimera
Chimera is a station built upon a large chunk of the Great Derelict and is stationed at Tanis Base, deep within the Great Wastelands. It performs the role of long-range sensor management and perimeter defence, with numerous fighters held onboard as well as fabricators to construct new ones. Since other examples of similar stations are being found the closer fleets get to the Redacted Space portion of the Great Wastelands, the schematics are hereby being released to private investors as an excellent defensive installation for bases, convoys and colonies. The addition of engines also makes this station more mobile than the original.

 Utility

Redemption Resource Controller
When the need for speciallized constructor ships became clear shortly after the Particulate threat emerged, the HDF commissioned the old Kushan Resource Controller to fill that role. The sturdy design of the ship allows for it to support two Lathes, making it efficient in its duties of constructing and deconstructing structures in the field.

Siim-Salla Resource Controller
Filling the same role as the Redemption, the Siim-Salla is an old Taiidan design that is much bulkier than its counterpart, allowing it tanking abilities that the Kushan RC does not have. It is a lob-sided design, providing some room between the Lathes and the Bridge module for the Particulates to be 'absorbed', making it a good shield for engaging Emitters.

 Derelicts

Derelict Carrier
This ship was found initially during the first Homeworld War amidst the ruined remains of other vessels in the Cathedral of Kadesh, and then later on in the Karos Graveyard. It is an ancient warship that, unlike modern Carriers, has no actual fighter bays, but was optimized for a fight. The heavy armour plating that adorns this vessel is a testament to this, though the original purpose of these ships has been lost to time.

Derelict Cruiser
Also found within the Karos Graveyard, and almost always stacked in neat grids with other derelicts of its class, this hefty Cruiser is a relic of a war long past. The massive guns and heavy armour make this ship incredibly powerful for the build cost compared to modern Heavy Cruisers, and multiple embedded shield generators makes this derelict incredibly hard to kill. The Particulates brought this behemoth back to life for a reason: utter domination over corporation fleets that dare intrude upon facilities harbouring these Cruisers.

Derelict Revelation
A Kushan destroyer that accompanied the Ticon Corp to its final resting place.

Derelict Research Station
These are the remains of the Research Station that stood against the tide of Particulates in defence of their allies.

Derelict Saarkin-Cho
One of the first to fall, this Carrier now makes up one of several derelicts in the Ticon graveyard.

Derelict Avatar
Stalwartly defending the Ticon Corp until the end, this derelict hulk's remaining weapon systems still make it an incredible combatant.

Derelict HQ
After everything they had endured in Redacted Space, this was the ultimate fate of the Ticon Corporation. This half-powered wreck is the remnant of their struggle, making up the heart of the Ticon graveyard.

 Alien Ships

Hydraxil Collective Ships

Fighter
One of the first ships to be encountered during the disastrous First Contact with the species currently known only as the "Hydraxil Collective", the Fighter is a tough vessel that is well armed and capable of assaulting medium targets. Its hull is split, each piece of which is held together using advanced quantum mechanisms that have yet to be understood by our baffled science teams. The HDF deemed this vessel safe for operation, however, and can now be purchased by private investors.

Collector
This three-Lathe collection of hulls is the Hydraxil counterpart to our Resource Controller and is very effective at wiping out our artificial structures. Upon closer inspection, the Collector hull appears to actually consist of the prows of three GalCorp Lathe-class ships, likely salvaged alongside the stolen HQ.

Shocker
It appears that the Collective is not new to combat against the Particulates, and have constructed this ship in response to the widespread usage of Stunner Spawners across Redacted Space. It has no direct combat capability, but the particle beams can be useful in slowing down mass movements of Particulates.

Tanker
When away from the safety of Energy Mines, the Collective uses these bulky Tankers to extend the range of their fleets. Generally quite tough and armed well enough to handle minor Particulate attacks, these ships are great to help aid your front-liners.

Warper
The Hydraxil Collective has only recently begun tampering with Particulate Emitters to produce the ever-helpful Benign Emitters. Needing a way to send these Benign Particulates to the front lines, they designed a large ship housing a powerful Graviton Core to fling them wherever needed. The shielding needed for the Core has made this ship larger than other Grabbers, but it has made it much tankier than other ships of this type.

Unknown
This ship, though similar to other Hydraxil vessels, has not actually been designed by the Collective. The blueprint was found amidst the asteroids of a forgotten Redacted Space system, and has since been a popular selection for combat operations. It has incredible tanking abilities with its four shields and lasers.

Mothership
Many that encounter the Mothership in combat have feared this iconic Hydraxil warship. Armed and armoured with the intent to murder anything that gets in the way, this ship forms the heart of nearly all Collective fleets, and as such as been a pain for corporate commanders everywhere to deal with.

Cruiser
Essentially a pile of broken hulls floating around a set of gigantic cannons, the Cruiser is a siege vessel, designed with the express purpose of punching a hole through nearly any formation, be that Particulates, Emergent, or other ships. Though its shields give it unprecedented survivability for a ship this flimsy-looking, it is fairly slow and can lag behind the rest of a fleet during assaults.

Dreadnought
Though only encountered once thus far by the late Taiidan Republic Assault Force, the Dreadnought is a massive behemoth that belittles even the Mothership. It has the guns, the armour, and the engines to swoop in on enemy fleets and leave no survivors, leaving nearly unscathed. As far as we can tell, no-one has managed to destroy one of these terrifying vessels.

Sector Control Node
Given the need to keep control over regions where a mobile command node, or HQ, is not present, the Collective uses these Control Nodes instead. They utilise micro-rifts to instantaneously communicate with the Hydraxil Nexus.

Defence Platform
The Defence Platform is pretty self-explanatory, and is used to protect major Collective installations.

Overlord Command HQ
After having spent many cycles studying the command architecture of the HQ they "borrowed" from a lost corporation, the Collective have finally completed constructing a HQ that anyone would fear. Larger than the Mothership and equipped with weapons and Lathes, the Overlord is due to become the very heart of the swarm. Beware.

 Special Edition Ships

Odin City
To celebrate the release of the Creeper World Anniversary Edition, the HDF is proud to present a hand-crafted recreation of the greatest city-ship ever constructed, Odin City. It carried the remnants of the Human Race to victory against the mighty Creeper Nexus in the 1st CE, and we hope this replica faithfully represents the struggles our ancestors had to endure so very long ago.

Additional warship blueprints are being prepared to be released soon. We appreciate your patience, and wish you luck in the fight against the Particulates.

HDF Combat Operations

Our entry into the war has finally begun! View the data links below for archived footage of battles as they develop:

Allied Forces

We have recently been in contact with, and joined, an alliance of corporations known as the Union that all seek to defeat the Particulates in Redacted Space, listed below. Seek them out, and consider aiding our cause by visiting their respective operations:
Or you can visit the intercorporate hub: The Union

Hydraxil Collective Missions

 Backstory Missions (CW2)
I have decided to expand what is known about the Hydraxil Collective by making a series of Creeper World 2 maps that depict their ancient history and how they came to be. If you do not own CW2, don't worry, since the backstory will not be necessary to understand their 'modern day' story arc.

If you are a CW2 owner, then check them out! The maps are known as the Dark Menace series.

That's all!

Impressive design, "Puppeteer Drone Frigate". How did you do it?

When in the ship editor, place a little "quarter tile" and facing one direction, then place another "quarter piece" facing the opposite direction in the adjacent tile. This gives the illusion of detached ship parts. This is how I the debris ship race built them.

Perhaps, but then again, one of the ships in the Inception mission "Daisy Chain" also uses a similar technique to divide it up into separate pieces, and that is included in the base game. So perhaps it's an unintended feature of the ship editor they decided to leave in.

Regardless, it can make ships look really cool. :P
