After My walkthrough of the game was done, I still have a lot of time on my hands, so I thought, Why not make a custom map video series instead?
I am calling out all authors on this, I will do any map as long as it does not interfere with the following rules:
1. No maze maps or maps that uses walls to consume time, I hate that. I will be happy to do maps that uses walls creatively.
2. NO TRIVIAL LEVEL MAPS, unless someone has played it and told me how difficult it really is, I will not do Trivial maps. Take note that I may do a Trivial map just for an easy battle after I did a hardcore battle and am/might be frustrated to relax myself.
3. No maps that have a massive supply of some building in one square of the map, or spread out, I like maps that let me build what I want to build instead of using what is there. However ,if its a good map, I can make an exception and choose to use what is there, depends on the map people request.
4. If I cannot complete a map ( which I hope will not happen), I will make a post on this topic and point out all my reviews here.
5. In addition to maps requested by player, I will also make videos of maps that I chose personally, so don't worry about maps that I made videos about without request by a player, I will point it out when I post the video.
6. Don't worry about copyright or any of that, I will promise to point out who made the map and the name of the map.
7. Anyone else can also post videos of their walkthroughs here, just make sure to give a correct address for the video, Comments or reviews on a video is optional.
8. Take note that I am only human and can do only a certain amount of maps in a certain amount of time. If I don't get to your map, I will either tell you that I ignored it because I don't like it, or am too busy with playing other maps in order to get to it, so just wait for a response from me, okay?
Feel free to use some of my terrain maps. They are always fun

Then I suppose you won't be using my early maps. Feel free to make one of the fleet series (All listed under F0R (http://knucklecracker.com/creeperworld/viewmaps.php?author=F0R)) thus far. They're nice, fun maps. (Plus, you already know how to beat fleet 5) Alternatively, if you want a harder map, you can try my own delta (http://knucklecracker.com/creeperworld/mapcomments.php?id=2630) map.

Personal Difficulty: Medium, takes a lot of time to build up, but fun nevertheless.
Personal thoughts: At first I was like, what, the Creeper here is weak, then I saw how fast it built up....then got scared a little. I had to restart 5 times to get to know where to place the first mortar that way I don't get owned by the Creeper, Really hard to get past the beginning on the island you are on. You have to position that mortar correctly if you want Odin City to survive. Its a pretty good map honestly, Add some spores and change the terrain a little to make it fair for the player and you got a really good expert only map. Its good for those who like a long, difficult, but fun fight. After you get past the beginning, there are many ways to try to counter attack the Creeper, you could send in a team of blasters to cap it off temporarily while building collectors, or try the safe way and mortar juggle to clear out the pools and let it continue firing until the pool clears. Any way you do it, its a good map to play, Good job on this!!

Thanks for the good review! After watching the video, it is interesting to see how everyone plays a map differently. I did not origonally intend it to be possible to do that :P. Your starting strategy was to quickly branch out and build as many collectors as you can. My strategy was to stay on that little island, while juggling building reactors and mortars. I built a relay early so when I was ready I could branch out. I stayed on the little island for a little more than three minutes.
When I started testing, the begginning was probaly experts only because the Creeper was stronger and you had so little time to build. But the gameplay was lopsided, after that it was much easier than experts only. That is why I made it weaker in the begginning and increased it at three minutes to keep you on your toes. ;D
Glad you enjoyed it.

On this map, you start out on a single "Square" and in order to win you must capture (cap the emitters) another square until you have access to the totems without a building being destroyed. It was fun but I was saddened with the fact that in game time it took 33 mins, and in real time, ONE HOUR. Good map for a long but interesting fight, each square you capture does something to the other squares around it, either making the square empty with nothing or fill up faster with Creeper, nevertheless, fun. I like how the "second type" of Emitter was implemented into the game's system, where you place an emitter but then place a wall right below it in order to cap it off, if the wall dissolves, the emitter will emit...in other words, Your screwed. However when I played I never noticed if the capped emitters activated or not, I just ignored all non-emitting emitters and capped the ones that seemed like an actual threat to me. The most annoying part....most likely the fact that there were many emitters all over the map, capping each one costed more units then I expected and, surprisingly, less energy then I expected. One question I asked myself after I was finished......HOW THE HELL DID EVERYONE GET BETTER SCORES THEN ME!??!?!?!. When I looked at the score board, I was saddened to see many people above me and some below, I thought to myself, "Ah Who cares about a score, when you have fun with a game, no one cares about the points you get. Also, it was an ingenious way to make a capped emitter because the mortars I had kept firing at it instead of the place I wanted it to fire at. Personal Thoughts: This is a fun map that is good for people who like an easy, relaxing battle. It is far from challenging, unless on Double Down, but very fun. I had a nice time figuring out how the creeper would recede back into its pools and how it advances further. I especially loved the pools that were in the map, nice mixture of a living threat combined with an easy-to-kill enemy. If you want a fun battle, try it normally, if you want a slight challenge, try it on Double Down. A good map made by a certain FOR we know.

Personal Thoughts: This map is definitely a good map in my book, it makes you think, A LOT. Delta was so difficult that I actually had to ask the author for help on this map, some thing I thought I wouldn't do. Its very challenging and requires a lot of patience, especially for newbie players who just got introduced to Creeper World. This was, by far, the hardest, most difficult map I have Played yet. Its very good for people who love a challenge in a game and oh boy, trust me it is challenging. Difficult, fun, interesting fight, and the fact I could not cap the emitters, Definitely a good map to play, and if you aren't good at this game yet, don't play this map, you will only be frustrated with it like I ONCE was. The author took so much time to fine tune everything that it was set up to be perfect, I know I may make it look easy, but trust me its not as easy as you think.

Personal Thoughts: I had recently played an extremely difficult map, so I wanted a Trivial just to Calm and Relax myself down. This map is perfect for a relaxing battle, you are at the safest spot, and can just spam buildings with little effort(You can do this on any map, however on this one, they can actually be built without being destroyed). I suspect that Spiffen's maps are all easy but fun as after the battle on this map, it was the most enjoyable easy victory for me. Recommended for people who like nice, easy battles.

start : 3600
interval : 0.1
intensity: 1000
you were right, and for as far as i remember they were ment to put the level on a time limit
also on the middle there is another 1000 emmiter, start 240 interval 60
Yes, but even before the 1000/0.1 emitters come on, there are 1000/60 emitters that start at 240 stacked there. Even on Double-Down, though, it is possible to finish before the time limit. See the pictures I posted in the comments of that map. (Given here for convenience)

Also, IN YOUR FACE, I completed it on Double Down and it wasn't that hard. The three super-emitters in the Horizontal center of the map are 1000 intensity and are very difficult to cap, as you can see in my video, I could not cap them, just stop them at a certain point. The middle one is impossible to cap, as there is not enough room for units. Wondering how to reach the totems? You have to time it between the intervals of the super-emitters and build relays as fast as possible, its tricky at first, in fact when I first played this map on DD, I gave up. Then I retried the map and saw it was possible to accomplish. Good map Apocalypstic!!!

Personal Thoughts: Good map, I like how the techs were placed in a hard to reach spot. If Twi had fixed Odin City to thats spot, I could not have been able to reach the tech by flying. Then this map would be rated hard. Unfortunately, I was being smart and cheap so I thought why not just fly the city to get the techs then go back, of course its your choice, play the hard way by being stationary or take the method I used and fly over to pick up the techs. In the very east side of the map, it was the most challenging, I had to not only cap the bottom emitters there, but had to fly some blasters over and cap the emitters on the high ground. This map was enjoyable and can be play in many ways and no matter how you finish the map, it was a satisfying victory.

I think you made it a little hard on yourself by conquering the complete map the 'old fashioned' way instead of first concentrating on stopping some of the already capped emitters and going straight for the totems after that. Like you concluded yourself you could have done with less energy (capping an emitter doesn't cost that much) and when you prevent emitters from going off you don't need that many units either (which results in a game time almost equal to your actual playing time, although this also depends on the speed of your computer). If you use mortars better put them just out of range of the emitters (this goes for almost every map). I like the music you've put under the video!

Depends how you define 'good'. Do you like them hard, pretty looking, fun to play, full of surprises and do these maps have to be recent? For me any map that offers a nice challenge without being boring is a good map. See

This map was fun, at first I thought "Hey, this is too easy"....then I saw the 1000 intensity flood wave of Creeper and the first thing that popped up in my head was "...oh no.....OH HELL NO!!" Fun and challenging, I admit that I may have taken a bit longer then expected, but I can't help but spam Speed Nodes everywhere just to see how fast my packets can go. The terrain coupled with the 3 most jerk-face emitters ever provide a great challenge, all I can say to those who play this map, BUILD BUILD BUILD, A LOT OF Units are required to temporarily cap the emitters long enough for you to charge the totem and fly outta there. Good map, well balanced with both terrain and Emitters. Definitely worth playing.

I did originally say it was easy, didn't I? It gives you a lot more room for error than you would likely think. Although, I would've thought this map would have violated your rule number 3, as you need to use what is there to win... Map 2 is a bit too easy to rush if you ask me, but since you've had problems
dealing with spores (http://knucklecracker.com/forums/index.php?topic=4228.msg20216#msg20216) in the past, who knows? Perhaps you might enjoy the rest of
the series thus far (http://knucklecracker.com/forums/index.php?topic=3196.msg14056#msg14056).

I've recorded a run of Flok with double down on and it's uploading now... It'll be done at about 700 GMT, about five hours from now... When it's done, it will be found here (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=y_6iUIx1iN4).

Jerkface much? I completed my NO Double Down walkthrough at the same time, Oh well, I will post both links for the sake of simplicity, of course you get credit for the DD walkthrough. Thanks for doing the Map on Double Down, I was planning to do it but I decided to go normal, then you came and did the DD walkthrough for me, thanks!!!!

Personal Thoughts: It was a fun map, the start up had me puzzled at first, but after about 3 retries, I finally got it. My advice: BUILD DRONES AS FAST AS YOU CAN!! Without dying of course, there are only three emitters, however they are well placed and with the intensity they have, they can overflow you quickly if no action is taken. Its a fun and good battle for those who want something slightly challenging but easy. Try double down for more of a challenge.

Personal thoughts: Fun map, The bridge is the only way to the other side, if you are playing on normal, secure the bridge first, if on double down, its better to build up then secure the bridge. Its a good way to make players have to fight for the ground they want to capture.

You must have never read the rules.......Basically, I don't do them the most efficient way possible on purpose. I only do it my way, the way I like, the purpose of a walkthrough is to not do it the best way possible, its to show only 1 of the many possible ways to beat a map. If you want a better way to beat the map, Experiment on your own or get advice from someone.

So basically you're saying the walkthrough shows how
not to do it, since you'll never get near the top scores following your instructions?
My input on this, there's only a few of what I'd consider 'best way to do it' walkthroughs, since some of our top players don't make a lot of vids if any at all. It's just nice to see custom maps being beaten, namely if they are harder levels like some of upperKEES can be. I just think these should just be called playthroughs or something like that, and state he's not playing for the best time.

I waited it out because I found out that the survivors were on one level higher elevation then the creeper which gave me a lot of time to get to them.

Is it me or do you like taking the hardest way to beat a map ;D, you can easily move OC to the right crazonium walled part and build up without having any problems with the creeper.
But it's your walkthrough, I'm just saying this in case you didn't knew that, and as I said earlier I love seeing people finishing maps in an other way than I.
Oh by the way, could you make a walkthrough for one of my maps? Of all maps I made I like the Italy (http://knucklecracker.com/creeperworld/mapcomments.php?id=1208&page=) map the most, could you do that one?
any chance you could do one (or more ;D) of my states?
Of course!! I will do as many maps as I can, And yes, For me if you take the hardest way to beat a map, It feels as if you have accomplished something. Easy wins are just too hollow and not satisfying enough.

SMF (the forum software) has an imperfect system of escalating rank the more one posts - unless one has been assigned into a group like beta(fish). This encourages newbies to spam and play forum games, just to get their post count up so they can become hero members. The stars are tied to the rank of a member, so is equally useless.
See here (http://knucklecracker.com/forums/index.php?topic=2768.msg11566#msg11566) for an overview of these rankings, but please realize it means nothing, like Karsten already indicated. It's what you post that counts!

Hmm..Okay, I have enough time to do that map, The reason I have not been uploading a lot lately is because of homework from school and I have been playing lots o Chronom maps.
Also, If you guys really want to, I can give you the link to the site that has the recorder I use, Its free and Virgil himself recommended it to me.

You know that the game has double speed now ?
You can use the arrow keys up and down to change the game speed .
Up is speed X2 and down is normal speed .
Windows movie maker, otherwise most convertere allow speed altering

Try using CamStudio - which I use. I found it easier than BB Flashback.
In CamStudio you can set two parameters that control playback speed.
One is the frame capture rate - it tells the s/w the interval between frame captures. For normal movie speed this would be 24, for CW, it would be 36, but I set it to 2 or 3 per second.
Then adjust the playback rate to specify how many frames per second. If you have a 1-1 match with the capture rate, it is normal speed, but choose 25 frames and since I have captured only 3 per second, the movie speeds up a lot.
It is easy to experiment with the two parameters until you get what you want.
Oh, and BTW, I set my time while recording the game, but I'm not posting the video, there's a glitch in it.
Here you go, gotta slow down the speed in the future:

Nice Job Making a walkthrough!!! Now I can be lazy and Go play more Chronom maps, Thank you!! Remember, you can always add your walkthrough on this thread at any given time.(No Offense SPIFFEN, He just took some work off of my hands so I am thanking him, thats all.)
Also, Here is an editing program, I use it all the time.
http://www.soft82.com/download/Windows/Windows_Movie_Maker (http://www.soft82.com/download/Windows/Windows_Movie_Maker)
Its free and Can help with a lot of video editing, You can make videos, with or without sound or you can delete the music in the game and replace it with music that you want to play, I do that sometimes....It depends on the mood I am in.

Karsten, Nice way to go!!! But I think you should have stockpiled a little more energy first, then attacked, personally.

What screen recording software do you use to make these videos?
Page 7 has abit info about it .
Ah OK, so you use CamStudio. I tried using that, but I often get an error when I finish the video saying something like "video file not found", and then there is no video file and it hasn't saved anything. This is, of course, extremely frustrating and discourages me from making more videos if they just keep disappearing into nirvana... how did you solve this problem?
never had it really
No it's Karsten75 who uses CamStudio , i think =P
I have tryed to use BB thing =P
@Timwi
FRAPS, easy and very good..

Spiffen, sorry for not posting any more vids, but I haven't been playing CW too much lately...
Shouldn't this be in "Custom Map Discussion"?
I'd like to see one of my maps, just to see how different people play from me.
Story Ep.6 The Labs (http://knucklecracker.com/creeperworld/mapcomments.php?id=3671&page=)
It's possible to bridge and get the mortar tech at the start of the map, and with lots of energy management, it can be beaten with ease.

Well, it could go there too, but this also involves a good amount of gameplay. Especially about discussing how to beat the maps. People do it different ways, and you can see when they make a video out of it.
Could someone make a video for this map? http://knucklecracker.com/creeperworld/mapcomments.php?id=4075&page=
I would, but I don't think you'd like the way I play... Then again, I do need to reclaim the high score for that one... Oh, whatever, I'm on the job! :P
EDIT: Video done, now to compress and upload
I'm scared.... Did you use that whole glitch where you move the city in the first 3 milliseconds???
Considering I am using the latest version, that's been fixed ;D
Anyway, here's the video: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Jw7phV0xt0k
