Wall Tool

Wall Tool

The wall tool is intended to help lay out first person levels a little more easily than with the standard editor tools. It fixes the issues of diagonals needing to be placed one cell at a time, and of cells being skipped when you move the cursor quickly.

UI

The UI has two buttons: one that flips between “wall” and “door” mode, and one that places creeper on special terrain. When selected, an indicator will show what cell the pointer is on.

The “Put creep on sp.” button puts 1 deep creeper onto every cell with special terrain, except for slot 10. It does not destroy already-existing creeper, and is basically a quick way to make sure all breeder on the map is active on game start.

Controls

In wall mode, just click where you want to start a wall and drag to where you want the wall to end. A one-cell-wide wall will be drawn between these two cells, and an edit undo point is created that can be restored if desired. It will lock to 45-degree increments when close, but this can be disabled by holding the control key.

In door mode, it behaves similarly, but there are a few differences. It will draw 19 height terrain instead of 20 height, and will always lock to 45-degree angles. If you draw over 19 or 20 height terrain in door mode, it will erase the wall by replacing it with the average terrain around the cell. Holding the control key does not disable locking in door mode; instead, it makes the door 2 cells thick. Doing this over already-existing walls will create a closed door in that wall.

Drawing very long walls with this might cause some lag.
