[VAU CPACK] V-Battlestation

The V-Battlestation is a heavy weapons platform housing a massive Liftic Cannon that is very effective in destroying Creeper. The station also houses a massive shield generator also using Liftic.
The Battlestation was also the first direct contact from Vertu in the universe of CW4. See LORE for full details. (It is a bit of a story).

-Basic Info-

  • Costs 500 Liftic to summon.
  • Only uses Liftic.
  • Contains a very large shield when enabled.
  • Shield slowly drains stored ammo.
  • Shield will fail if a spore hits it.
  • Shield takes a long time to recover.
  • Very powerful Liftic cannon that devastates large areas of Creeper.
  • Long cannon reload.
  • Cannon projectile stuns anything that can be stunned within a small area around the impact zone.
  • Only has AutoRestock and low HP AI.
  • 80 HP.
  • 150 Ammo capacity.
  • Low maintenance when the shield is offline.
  • Has a prioritization widget that will stop the station from firing its cannon if too low on ammo.
  • Micro-Rift-like orb under the station is its connection point.
  • Fancy projectile.

-Advanced-

Generally, the best use of the Battlestation is when there are massive depths of Creeper. We are talking about “50” in depth. When you hover your mouse over terrain, the blue bar has the number 50. THAT much Creeper. And this isn't just a little area, the entire surrounding area is also a depth of 50.
The Liftic cannon can very efficiently devastate this amount of Creeper and if any massive waves show up, its shield can hold fast to stop it from flowing past.

Generally the V-Battlestation it is rarely used as the Creeper rarely reaches such levels of depth and the HCPPCAS can vaporize an effectively unlimited depth of Creeper instantly using only energy that requires direct recharge by the Rift Lab very rarely. Only when the Creeper is aggressive and depths of 50 are nothing less than its frontlines will the Battlestation be an optimal choice.

-Its Future-

There has been some talk within Vertu about doing something about the apparent over achievement of the V-Battlestation.
Some have proposed automated target seeking just like the Fighters though the original reason of not having this still stands strong: The station is a massive flying weapons platform in atmosphere so it may be a bit slow compared to even the poor aerodynamics of the Fighter (VGPSF) as at least that has 6 main thrusters to brute force the drag to at least some success. The Auto-Station however looks forward to this idea thanks to its small size and mass.

Another proposal is to rework the internals of the station to add drone carrying capabilities. Currently it is mostly a pseudo-solid-hydrogen heat sink with thermal energy conduction systems designed to expel thermal energy added to the heat sink. This massive internal infrastructure keeps the onboard <REDACTED> refinery at an active temperature of about 15°:25° Kelvin (Vertu engineering includes really good insulation as to make sustaining massive temperature differences between internal and external temperatures possible). This low temperature is because all electrical systems become parabolically more efficient at colder operating temperatures. The lower the temperature, the more efficient. Fun fact.1) This is needed due to how expensive the process of onboard <REDACTED> refining is, even when using the most ideal forms of Liftic best suited for transmutation currently known to Vertu. Rather than housing such a demanding system, it is proposed to replace small portions of it with drone hangers. This will make the cannon require more Liftic for the creation of its projectiles in the <REDACTED> refinery or reduce its firepower by using less <REDACTED> in the projectile to conserve the current Liftic use.
The drones can serve what ever purpose, the goal being to add a 3rd property to the V-Battlestation. The hope is that what these drones may be used for will make the V-Battlestation appealing in more scenarios. Some say for fire support so the cannon can ignore shallow Creeper rather than wasting the shot on massive overkill and make its firepower more constant while countering the cannon's inability to halt advancing Creeper flow as it takes only “greater than 0” Creeper for it to claim and take over territory, not “10”. Ground units where the only halt of Creeper advancement still, thus making the V-Battlestation a support unit, not an assault or defense unit. Even the shield is too small to protect territory without ground units to keep it secure and too small to hold a front line, only a chokepoint. The drones can maybe intercept hostile units like Blobs, Spores, Glops, and Light SAM plasma projectiles. The current idea is to have the addition of these drones make the V-Battlestation a Battlestation, not a Supportstation.
The drone implementation has been noted but there is no guarantee of implementation.

WARNING! GIGA WALL OF TEXT WITHIN!

WARNING! GIGA WALL OF TEXT WITHIN!

How it all started.

How it all started.

Before Vertu began their transdimensional incursion into CW4, they actually had a long history with the universe by mistake. In short, it was when a few Hexites2) found themselves in the CW universe but thought it was an other universe which was already known. A universe that they found to be a valid place to settle in for the time being before traveling throughout Vertu again to their ultimate destination with an unneeded arrival time requirement.

They where quickly attacked by the Creeper not too long after their arrival, theorized to of been attracted against its “natural” behavior to the transdimensional entry of these Hexites along with their Computer Intelligence3) companions who landed onto a nearby planet to begin striping its mass to be manufactured into infrastructure like a Dyson Swarm around the system's star to aid in the expansion of the Vertu Empire before constructing a permanent dimensional gate checkpoint of which they will use to continue to their ultimate destination and let Vertu take over control of the area. We shall refer to the Hexites and Computer Intelligences, both being the same kind of alive as you except <REDACTED>, collectively as the Pioneer Fleet.

Upon the arrival of the Creeper on to the planet, at first as with all unanimous first contact protocols, a stern neutrality was expressed by the Pioneer Fleet towards what ever just showed up, demanding communication if they wish to change this neutrality for the better. The hazard the fluid emitted by the “natives” was quickly found and identified as not emergence or entropy but weaponization. In response, the Pioneer Fleet used energy weapons to vaporize the fluid and their standard weaponry to destroy the “natives” of this universe. Although they had no reason to do this as they all can go from the surface of a large star to its Exosphere4), they could care less if the surface was submerged under 20km of this deep blue, semi-transparent, partially organic/living liquid. However, they wanted to strip the mass of the planet and to do so, they need to interact with its mass which would be located under 20km of annoying corrosive liquid that corroded everything not largely composed of Silicon with great determination if they let it do its thing. Since the planet was rich in Iron within its Silicates, the Pioneer Fleet was too lazy to pack up and look for a new easy source of Iron when they can just start blasting.

After a good many orbital cycles which in our time scale would be some 57 years, the Creeper returned. The threat they posed to the infrastructure now developed on the planet made the Pioneer Fleet agitated. It was clear the Creeper was a primitive inhabitant of this dimension that knew nothing of reasoning but only hostility. This is a very favorited exploitable excuse of Vertu as reasoning to conduct galactic cleansing of the pest. Before blasting the Creeper to oblivion again and thinking of doing just that, a Rift Lab appeared on the planet during the second invasion of Creep and caused the present Creeper structures to enter into overdrive. What ever these structures where, the Pioneer Fleet knew they heavily reacted to the appearance of this… giant city?, and may even of been stimulated into more vigorous activity from its arrival. The entire Pioneer Fleet quickly identified a plethora of information from the trans-materialization of the city on to the planet, quickly becoming confused to why they where so careful with preventing the sudden displacement of the median they materialize into. They learned from the entry of this city that this dimension was a bit more active and interesting than initial observation and that they may be in a interesting part of the dimension (of which they thought they where in).

The city quickly made contact to the Pioneer Fleet and the fleet quickly determined the city was not hostile but cooperative in trying to nullify what they called the Creep or Creeper, humoring some members of fleet who made the linguistic connection of the quickly translated communication. What ensured the prevention of the Pioneer Fleet from blasting the city from being in a bad mood was the inhabitant's knowledge of the “Creeper” and the specialized technology that can attack it efficiently of which they developed. Now that the creepy invaders where loosing their minds and put into overdrive, the Pioneer Fleet was not excited to exterminate them with great inefficiency and desired to team up with the leaders of this mobile city under mutual symbiosis.

The inhabitants of the city shocked the Pioneer Fleet when they expressed a primitive version of their culture known as Inclusion; an idea/culture that violates the very rules of existence which is “if it is successful, it will continue to exist” that only Vertu and Nexious have ever achieved throughout the multiverse, including a thorough survey size of over 1,000 unique dimensions which possessed the emergence of life as a common phenomenon. Thanks to this expression of at least some form of Inclusion, the beings of the city did not enter anarchy out of the shear panic of what the individuals of the fleet where, both the Hexites and Computer Intelligences. This also made the Pioneer Fleet FAR more nonchalant and comfortable with their previously assumed to be temporary allies. The Vertu Empire rarely encounters foreigners who put their ignorance and bliss aside to understand they can't comprehend Vertu using their traditional form of thinking and put effort in trying to help this comprehension by keeping an open mind and thinking logic before emotion but without dissolving, ignoring, suppressing, or integrating emotion. In the event of meeting such foreigners, Hexites and CIs (Computer Intelligences) can comfortably express their true social nature and express great relief and long-term companionship to the foreigners. This meant that this “temporary alliance” was not going to be temporary anytime soon.

Speeding up time, the Pioneer Fleet integrated itself with this mobile city, working together as one on their adventures and interactions with the inhabitants of the dimension, eventually realizing it was not the dimension they thought it was, but where intent in staying a few millennia rather than a quick in-and-out 100 year visit or even integration into the Vertu Empire before resuming to their ultimate destination again. Uncountable numbers of Creeper where exterminated by this alliance and the Hexites of the Pioneer Fleet even developed the Nullifier with the scientists of the city which would store energy sent to it until holding so much energy it overloads (all intentionally) into a focused arc of electrical discharge that obliterates the robust Creeper structures with minimal effort and energy compared to previous methods.

Over time, the Pioneer Fleet eventually proposed a bold design. A final design and innovation as a farewell gift from the Pioneer Fleet who now wish to travel the multiverse once more rather than quantum parallels of this dimension of Creeper Worlds. They have been doing this for nearly a million years already. This would be the creation of a massive operation platform to integrate the city itself, both keeping it away from danger and able to eradicate the Creeper all no matter how much effort the Creeper put into taking it down. It would be able to fly in dense atmospheres including high gravity and even work easily in space, fire massive discharges of sophisticated electric discharge weaponry to obliterate Creeper, contain missile based weapons for a variety of uses ranging from point-defense to tactical carpet bombing, enhancements to the city's capabilities as a whole, and the ability to terminate any structure with a built-in advanced nullifier using the same design plan as the nullifier co-developed now so long ago.
This was the original V-Battlestation. Vertu is so vast that although this has been recorded and documented by the Pioneer Fleet itself upon entering Vertu multidimension territory once more, there are rumors that the great city is still out there in Dimension_CW-1, materializing from quantum parallel and instance to quantum parallel and instance, controlling the quantum structure of the metauniverse with the dimension itself by saving as many civilizations from the Creep and liberating as many Creeper Worlds it can find, including any dormant Creeper. Some even say it is now able to travel beyond the CW-1 Dimension, increasing its influence beyond just one dimension of the CW multidimension. Some even theorized some of the nullifiers found within Dimension_CW-2 that are more complex, developed, and efficient than typical nullifiers found throughout, came from that very grand CityStation, sharing the exterminative nullification technology with others it finds worthy of such a technological breakthrough.

From legend to practice (uses context from the above section)

From legend to practice (uses context from the above section)

With all of the information above, the Vertu empire learned well about the Creeper and how to annihilate it efficiently. Consider it like the experience share item in Pokémon or just getting experience into something from doing nothing yourself but from others. That is what the Pioneer Fleet did for the Vertu Empire before it began official engaging of the dimensions of Creeper World.
Based on the grand city's battle platform specs from the Pioneer Fleet (as the collection of all information, even military, is collectively shared in the empire and accessible to all. This is further supported by how the empire has no real enemies (not even terrorists or counter-cultures!), so the lacking security in the access of information is a meaningless risk, though the Vertu Empire has a contingency protocol in the event sensitive information may need to be controlled for the sake of security), a new and mainstreamed battle platform was proposed once Vertu became interested in what we call the Creeper World 4 universe on an official level thanks to the discovery that Greenar and its refined version, Liftic, is a material that can be efficiently transmutated into <REDACTED>, an efficient and extremely portable resource that is used to convert energy into “work”. Or in other words, a very, very, very, good battery where a good idea is to insert more energy into it for the sake of transporting energy. Or in simpler terms, solid energy (though this is far more than “solid energy” and not actually what it is at all, but that is a lore-science lesson that not even I would dare to place here). Since <REDACTED> is essentially power, Vertu became quickly interested in the CW4 universe and was now willing to invest into the extraction of Greenar to be transmutated into <REDACTED> and aid in the homeostasis of the empire.
During the development of the battle platform, Vertu was aware of how the Creeper can be used as a catalyst to start a runaway <REDACTED> transmutation process, a very difficult to achieve scenario that can cause surrounding matter to transmutate into <REDACTED>. So long as nothing important may be victim to this scenario, it is a much desired situation that can make <REDACTED> mass without outside intervention and energy, essentially the produced wastes from this process is used to continue it. With this in mind, some have proposed the use of <REDACTED> to corrupt the Creeper and encourage the start of this runaway process. Thankfully for you, who may be using the V-Battlestation, this was denied as the Creeper was only a catalyst. Something that reduces the required threshold of a chemical process or in this case, an atomic transmutation. The largest issue with trying to create a runaway <REDACTED> transmutation is not getting it started but large enough to be self-sustaining and not choke itself. In the event it is self-sustaining, it will be considered a runaway process but technically a runaway <REDACTED> transmutation process happens very easily, only to die out to its' over success and efficiency.
So for now and probably for all of time, instead of being a runaway <REDACTED> transmutation agent the battle platform will just have a basic refinery to convert Liftic into small amounts of <REDACTED> which will be used as “bullets” to then be charged using any available energy as little as thermal energy absorbed by the hull's surface to then charge the “bullets” into mini fission bombs, or nukes as you may know it as. Liftic can also be used to charge existing <REDACTED>, allowing a bypass of the marginal gain of transforming Liftic or Greenar into <REDACTED> for the sake of obtaining energy and this is used to power an efficient shield generator within the battle platform while fighting against the exponential inefficiency from any projection system's projection size in more than 3 vectored space. This was achieved latter after the first V-Battlestations where created once the procedure of using Liftic to charge <REDACTED> was developed and became consistent & reliable within all standards too.

You know lasers right? It's a constant “beam” of energy. They are power hungry because they don't use matter which is a stable form of energy and the stored energy within this matter can be utilized in the form of kinetic energy, potential energy, chemical energy, inertial energy (a heavy enough bullet will go through anything if it doesn't disintegrate first), and many other forms of energy. A laser does not have access to this list because it does not use matter which again, is stable energy. E=MC². So just some bullet being a bullet and existing contains SO MUCH ENERGY! And if you throw it fast enough, some of that contained energy is used in tandem with the energy from being thrown to penetrate another solid object. So the energy needed to use this bullet is the energy needed to over come its inertia and once that is done, the energy within the bullet can then be used such as its' inertia, which allows it to penetrate an object or its' kinetic energy which can force the object it collides with to move in some way and cause physical damage as we see traditionally like torn armor.
Lasers don't have this contained energy to do these things when used. So it needs to provide that energy for itself. If we translated the contained energy of solid munition into energy needed to power a laser, a gun will actually use an exponentially larger amount of energy than any laser. A laser just needs to provide all its needed energy unlike a gun which only needs to provide the energy needed to move its projectile with the rest of the needed energy already provided within the projectile in the form of matter.
The V-Battlestation's cannon is a middle ground of laser and bullet. Low mass <REDACTED> is the bullet/projectile and energy “inserted” into it is the “laser” part of the “cannon”. The <REDACTED> bullet is a vessel for the energy “inserted” into it. Imagen firing a laser into a bullet but all of the energy used by the laser is conserved and stored within the bullet. Then fire this bullet now charged with the energy. Upon impact the charged bullet releases both the contained energy of the matter it's made of and the energy from the laser. Since a laser is so more efficient in terms of energy, it will provide 90% of the energy of the charged bullet and the 10% being the traditional bullet just like any gun we know in our world. This means that the “bullet” is less of a tank shell that can damage solid structures and more of a laser that can vaporize liquids and solids. Shooting water with a gun does nothing, the water even wins. Shooting water with a laser vaporizes it into a gas. Creeper is a liquid, not a solid. Shooting a bullet at Creeper does nothing, a laser vaporizes it. The V-Battlestation's cannon is 90% laser (in reference to the stated example of all of this, this not the actual number) so 90% of the weapon used works against Creeper. The 10% is so small that it actually also contributes as the more energy put into firing a bullet at water, the more ineffective much like how a Sniper bullet gets annihilated essentially instantly by the water where as a pistol bullet penetrates deeper and is mostly in tact.
This weapon methodology has made the V-Battlestation so effective that it is rarely needed. The Creeper is rarely deep enough in such a large area. Usually the amount of Creeper that is needed to not be be vaporized in a single shot are found within massive and tall waves. A wave is a lot smaller than an ocean. The HCPPCAS is better at vaporizing sudden and massive waves towering above the pool of Creep. The V-Battlestation is better at vaporizing oceans.

Maybe the design is too successful for simple missions. It was after all, based on a battle platform for a city with the intent to be a mobile planetary infrastructure for the city and to be used by it in any situation no matter the scale or difficulty it may encounter on its travels. To be ready for anything and everything. Something that is far beyond unneeded on actual missions rather than massive campaigns.
We don't plan to change this though. It is there for when it is needed.
