Probably there's a good reason for disabling the chat at the moment, but I hope it will be available again in the near future.

what happened yesterday? why did virgil shut down the chat... what could this "good reason" possibly be?

I reviewed some complaints and the logs for certain users and found the chat was being abused by a few kids.  They were just being kids and doing the normal "angry teenager" thing and really don't have any idea of the harm they do or the shame they bring on themselves.  But, that said, I can't police the chat 24/7 so I had to take it down since it's content was violating my own policies.

I respect your decision but for all the time this forum existed, it has only happened once.
It's like stopping all the comments on maps, because that spammer wrote some insulting things.

And I also think the chat is very useful for people to talk about the game and gameplay, you really learn a lot from it.

So I think our chat should be re-opened, also because otherwise that kid that was banned will think he succeeded and that if he couldn't use the chat noone could.

It will probably come back at some point.  It really isn't a contest with winners and losers.  There are always vandals and such.  They mess all over everything and get joy from the pain or loss of others.  I needed to take the chat down for now because I wasn't comfortable that it was under control and able to provide the kind of environment I want associated with KC.

So I'm not going away, CW is stronger with more players than ever, and KC is hard at work on a new game.  The future never looked brighter for what I want to bring to the scene.

Make it a minimum of 50 posts to be able to access chat.

This way we can still have chat, but only active members of the forum can use it.

How you can do this is anyone with 50 or more posts can be put into a special group, maybe

"Jr. Member" just like we have a Sr. Member.

Also, I think that Beta's should be able to use the chat no matter what, since only hand-picked people are in this group.

I have re-enabled chat, on a trial basis.  Only full and beta forums members can access the chat for now.     

Hmmm, I still can't login to the chat.... I get the message: "Invalid User Name".

I've changed my password for the forums successfully, but still can't enter the chat. I noticed Karsten (beta) and Xylnalya (full member) can, so maybe senior members have to be added?
