Emitters produce creeper, the main enemy of the game. They can only be destroyed by a nullifier or destroying a Warp Inhibitor. In the map editor, they can be adjusted to produce differing amounts of creeper at different intervals.
Runner Nests produce Runners that move on digitalis. It will only create Runners if there is digitalis underneath it. In the map editor, they can be configured to produce Runners with different health, speed, and payload than the norm.
Spore Towers launch varying amounts of spores at random player units. They can be modified in the map editor to create more or less spores with different payloads.
Digitalis conducts creeper along itself and allows Runners to move. It spreads along a predictable path, but can go over any type or shape of terrain. Digitalis grows quickly and regenerates fast, but if it is cut off of its source, it will wither and die.
Spores are fired from Spore Towers. They are aerial and cannot be attacked by any unit except Beams. When they hit the ground or a player unit, they release an amount of creeper that is decided in the map editor. Spores can be shot down with Beams or blocked with Shields, but they have a considerable amount of health and damage any Shield that it hits.
Runners are mobile units that run along digitalis and can stun your units. Their health, speed, and payload can be modified in the map editor and they shoot small bullets that will lock out units from the rest of the network for several seconds.
