Desc:
*SPOILER ALERT! DON'T PLAY THIS MAP IF YOU HAVEN'T PLAYED CW2 YET* A sort of continuation of my old foes series, and a spinoff of the plot of creeper world 2. Read the text! And be warned, this series is not for the average player. Thanks to Kithros for helping with this, I could NOT beat it!

Please post a comment and let me know what you think of the plot, layout, or gameplay... let me know what I did right, and what needs changed! And now for the basic story.
Spoiler
Shortly after the events of cw1, you find yourself on a strange planet, as a test subject to serve the purposes of the evil styglek. In this series, you will be going through the styglek's tests... and even taking a warp through time! (when the cw2 map editor comes out) If you haven't guessed, the plot of this series will end up being similar to that of terminator. The styglek know you'll be a threat i the future, so they've come back to irradiate you. Good luck! Once again, leave a comment... and don't rage-rate, it isn't nice, and it's a hard map that I spent a lot of time on! It's so hard in fact... I haven't been able to beat it myself. So once again, thanks to Kithros for helping to get this map up on the site.

Great great great map.  perfectly tuned.  I wish there was some warning about the 25min kill switch, but that's a minor point, and maybe I missed it in the text.

Ebon Heart

There is. READ THE ARTIFACT! that's exactly why I stressed that so much. But besides that, glad you liked it! Do you think I should continue the series? It doesn't seem like too many people are playing cw1 any more.. I have several more maps planned for this plot line, leading into cw2.
Spoiler

gah, this is going to sound really stupid, but, I CAN'T BEAT IT! I made it, I know it's possible, I spent an entire day testing it... I just can't beat the danged thing. Any suggestions?

what serves me right?! I'm way out of practice with cw1... I finally got a foothold, and tried to press Ctrl C and save.

I read the text quite quickly, must have missed the warning.  I would love more maps in this series, although I also like CW2 I have beaten the publicly available maps for it already

Suggestions for beating this map
Spoiler

The hard bit on this map is surviving the first push of creeper.  you send out collectors to get tech and then hunker down in your base.  As such you need to be as efficient as possible at the start. 2 tricks I used:

1) don't get all tech within easy reach at first.  I got blaster, reactor and anti air, as well as 2 upgrades (energy and build cheaply).  I did NOT get mortar. I found those two additional collectors necessary to reach the mortar made it too hard for me to get my defenses up.

once you snatch the mentioned techs and build collectors inside your base, build blasters north and south inside your compound but just covering the doorways, then start on some reactors. then . . .

2) build a blaster on the east and one on the west within your compound.  these must be close enough to cover where creeper seeps in from the side and MUST be completed BEFORE creeper starts coming in from the sides.  It uses a lot less energy to keep the creeper at bay there if you can hit it as it seeps in than it does to hold it back once it starts to pool and spread.

OK hope that helps, and I very much hope to see more from you

thanks, I'm really liking this plot line so far... at the very least, it'll lead into cw2... and I have a few maps already started for this series in cw1. I'm just trying to think of more styglek tests.... the next one will probably be to see if you can think on your feet. It's already mostly made, just a pain in the butt to balance.
