The Story

The story seems oddly familiar, could it be based on the TV series; Stargate.

My Reasons for suspecting:
- The "Odin" city looks like the ancient city of Atlantis.
- Platius seems like one of the ascended ancients.
- "Thor"; the massive spaceship, looks like one of the Asgard's ships.
- And the dialogue on the "Loki" world suggests the Creeper is a persona of the Ori.

Should I say something and ruin everyone's speculation....  Probably not.
Perhaps a few hints, though....

I do love all of the stargate series (the jury on universe is still out).  But I also love ST (all), B5, farscape, and BSG(old and new).  I also have read a bunch of A.C Clarke in my day.   And from time to time, I have been known to pull things out of the ether in brief moments of originality.
