Up until now, when submitting a map score, the group under which you submit a score has never been revealed in any map data display. So if you didn't know the name of a group, chances were slim that you could form a group with another player.

How many of you are relying on the group not being commonly known amongst other players and what would your feelings be if new displays of map/player scores reveal associated group information?

On another note. How would you like a display of map information where you could compare your score to the score of one or more other players across a range of maps?

For me, totally (almost) consumed with "chromium" stuff, I'm not playing much else these days, so not much use to me...

ctuna: Presumably this could apply to chronom maps as well.  ;)

I'd suggest those players wanting to form a group with others do it via a forum topic or PMs.
Power. Power! I must have more POWER!

Katra: I agree - the chronium tournaments already provide a comparison across a range of maps - seems a separate group would be appropriate - like a Thursday afternoon golf league or something. Don't know what kind of "group" is meant, anyway.

I like this

That would be great

I think groups (if used) are being formed by friends, colleagues or other people that have their way of communicating to agree on their group name.

I don't see the use of it, but I couldn't care less. I only use the group name to be able to find my own scores when not displayed in the top 100 for a map.

You can only compare the scores of different maps when scores are weighted, see here. I talked to Virgil about this (maybe for CW2), but I think he'll just leave it as it is at the moment. Roccologic implemented it however (see my signature) and he can create a page like that for anybody requesting.
