Beware the smallest misstep will bring the wrath of the gods down upon us. That baleful pulsating red glow warns a sacrifice is due...No... it is Overdue!!!! Is the fairest maiden's fate sealed??? Is there a hero who will step forward risking everything to save the land and rescue the fair maiden!!!! This map honours DMD map #37 by "purpleyukari" for reminding us that a very basic CW3 game feature can yield new-to-me challenges...

I can hardly wait to see what maps Martin G will create with this simple trick....

loved this map!

but if you expected any finesse on my part, I'm sorry. I fought this long and hard building a base!

Just seeing you tried it was reward enough Martin... Weasee's time was 1/2 mine... And I was overjoyed just to be able to complete my own map...
I was thinking about the precision of the workings in your "clock like" puzzle maps... as I struggled to find a solvable balance between DMD map #37's pyroclastic spoor tower volcanic spoor eruption... and eventually a survivable balance between pre-charged beams and the reactors needed to sustain them...
You must have discovered map making skills/techniques that speed the process...  Took me +two days to get it working...

If anyone would like a starting point...

I also needed Lots of "N" Key tapping with occasional saves to get all of the prebuilt reactor/relay Volcano trigger units to 98% Completion.... so there was enough time for the reactors all to fire up...

so, the forge doesn't attract spores, and you have super strong totems...

Spoiler
what I did was to space the CNs across the open land and laid down a string of collectors connecting the CNs and prebuilt reactors near the western edge. Both collectors and reactors were disabled, of course. then, I filled the remaining space with beams. But having the forge set to max on everything, building time is fast and you have excess of energy. So then, I simply made collectors and reactors active, and they got built in an instant, and I managed to keep the spores at bay that way.

Martin
When I enlarged your screenshot... You broke me right up - I just can't stop laughing.... laughing... laughing...
I am delighted with your sense of humor... And that you had fun!!!!!!!!!!!
Thank you Martin !!!!!!!!!!!!  I really needed a laugh.... [After spending hours yesterday and this morning providing documents to our Gov Tax Clerks... proving why their decision to disallow 2 simple routine annual deductions are in error... In one's 80s... medical expenses add up surprisingly high...]

Was just about too sit down here with CW3 and investigate how Weasee could solve it twice as fast as I did...
Spoiler
Winning it in half the time means Weasee built less than half the beams and reactors I desperately filled all the free map space with just to get the map finished... So Weasee either innately understands how many maxed reactors are needed to power each beam... in X seconds... And while my rule of thumb is that you need about 7 maxed beams for each wave of 25 spoors...  I would then have had to figure out how many seconds it takes to recharge each group of 7 beams...  then time the frequency between waves of spores, etc. etc. ..,    Or perhaps... Weasee just uses the Darwinian, brute force, method of...
Spoiler
Building a bunch of beams/reactors - saving - triggering the volcano spore tower and timing the results... reload... add beams and reactors as needed and try again... Hey... that Darwinian, test-to-destruction and try-again, method is how billionaire Elon Musk developed his space rocket and electric vehicle empires... Hummmmm ????? Who is Weasee??????

I await your thoughts of how Weasee performed his usual magic...

PS Tt took a while... But I learned how load "F12" screenshots into Steam and then create a Steam internet link which can then be inserted into these Forum notes...  BUT... How did you "Insert An Image" Surely it can't be as simple as inserting the Steam internet link into the "Insert An Image" URL folder????  Ouch!...  The only way to test this is to try it... Sooooo....

NOPE the above did not work...  Ideas???

Thank you Martin...
For an otherwise mostly capable old geezer... I too often miss the simplest things... things that are obvious to those who build and operate computer systems...  Fortran 4 and DOS were easier...

TRULY GREAT and FINE ART... I love it... All I have to do now is find a way to print a humongous copy and hang it on the wall... Well... Maybe I should ask Maureen to see if she will also like it????
