While we slept last night the humans reclaimed this system, and they spent the night amassing vast resources to prevent our retaking it. We believe that it is now impossible to retake this, but we are sending you on this impossible mission anyway. #PlayAsCreeper

There's a tutorial map. Use the Text filter "Redemption" and play map 1492 "Arc Eternal Redemption - Training Day" by Hubs. Some of the mechanics have evolved some, but are still similar enough the changes shouldn't cause any trouble.

I do like a good PAC map.

Has the spore target graticule changed? It was almost invisible for me in this map.

stdout

RrR in making this particular map, I knew the player would end up with more emitters than usual, so I went into the code to try to change the support lines to be much lighter so the play could still see the action even when supporting a single emitter from 50 others. But I unfortunately also lightened the cross hairs from the spore towers, which was accidental.

In future PAC maps, I will fix this so that the support lines are light but the spore tower is the way it normally is.

Any tips on how to beat this map? I can only get this far:

stdout

x2 the digitalis on the left is the key to advancing. Support that emitter and let the digitalis flood with creeper. Then remove the very tip of the digitalis and push the creeper north, building new digitalis as you go. Doing this you can easily take the left branch of the tree and establish a new foothold.

yes, stdout must have set the transparency much higher or something, it was a bit tricky setting targets but still a great map! 8)

That worked great  :) Thank you stdout!

yak

how do you "remove the very tip of the digitalis"?

when the digitalis tool is activated, press "t" and it will change from white to red. It will now remove digitalis. Press "t" again to make digitalis again

Martin Gronsdal

If we have a stripe of digitalis and we want it to advance further.

Is it better to erase the last bit of the digitalis and let it spill creeper, or is it better to erase just a thin line behind what you want to spill, creating an island of digitalis?

GoodMorning

It's situational - it depends heavily on the amount of Creeper you can push onto the Digitalis, if you're using a field tool, if it's under fire from the conventional units...

I often find that in situations where this would be a plausible question, a pile of 10-20 or so on the edge is best. There are diminishing returns for using more, and if you can expand by one or two cells at a time, you can repeat that cycle faster - you also need the Digi to regrow before you can push again, small deletes from the edge work well.

(Also, fun fact - if you delete and re-lay it immediately while paused, the visuals don't update but it kills the Digi (may depend on version), so there's no risk of a lucky cannon-shot making it impossible to re-form your Digi.
