how do you get the AI to build on the starting side? I have ive almost the whole map covered in Ac but cant complete due not being able to nullify the creep spawners.

The AI has a build order, and one of the things it builds is an M-Rift, which will link it up to the rift on the left side. Because there's a tower on the left, that triggers the AI to start mapping out and building from that point, but it won't do it straight away - it'll work on nullifying the emitters on the right first since that's the closest part of the network (or at least, that's been my experience in testing).

Same issue as favour6; M-Rift finishes, the AI even builds towers there and floats them down but never builds power to the low ground, rendering the map incompletable.

Sheep

I got the same issue the others have reported. AI will not build off of the starting island.

What's your in-game timer sitting at currently (or can you screenshot and post here)? I'm going to try and track down this bug.

I am glad i stopped this after about 15 minutes of internally screaming at the AI to build more towers, it only covered the starting platform and kept swapping weapons in and out to load them. so i pressed Control E and let myself build a single tower to connect a cannon. turned it back off in Editor and then closed editor mode. That seemed to jump-start the AI again.
For those who would rather just finish the map and don't care about posting a score this is an option.
EDIT: can i also say i was on 1x speed and this started immediately after i had to force respawn as i got stuck on the inside of the massive gap, kinda wish they were sheer cliffs so i couldn't fall down and get stuck in the first place, but i am enjoying the map all the same.

Screenshot and saves attached. (The M-Rift finishes at around 15 minutes, but I kept fucking around for over an hour more.)

Thank you, I wasn't able to figure out how to build new towers but I used the editor to delete a tower and that seemed to kick it back into action. It stalled again when building toward the last totem I needed to win. Deleted a second tower and it built right over.

Okay, I've been able to replicate it - the AI definitely does bug out after around the hour mark. It can be kicked back into gear by having a tower destroyed or placed there, but of course that doesn't help anyone properly complete the map.

I'll have to dig more into this to see if it's unique to the setup on this map or if it's a bug in the AI itself. Apologies all.

I've just finished the map at around 58 mins(didn't submit obviously, i edited it), but this started closer to the 30 minute mark for me.

Something strange is up with the Autopilot CPACK in this level. The notes section of the CPACK matches the most recent version, but the scripts are from the last version. That might be the reason for the issues.

Update: Importing the most recent version definitely changes the AI's behavior, so this is probably an old bug.

I'm not entirely sure what went wrong when transferring the CPACK into this level, but a safe bet is to go to the creeperworld4\editor folder and delete the "_UNKNOWN" folder before editing a colony level. That makes sure the game doesn't load the wrong scripts when you open the editor to export.

Malignantmind

It's a little frustrating when you somehow manage to fall off a cliff right next to the rift lab and have to force respawn only to show up all the way back on the other side of the map and have to make your way across again.

Jican

Fell through the map right after getting through the first island, reset me back on crimson filled island. Quit. That starting point is pointless and not fun at all. There is no reason to force someone to fight towards the starting area to begin to play the game.

Vition

I second the falling through map issue, it's happened to me twice, once I was just moving slightly too fast, the second time I shifted from first person to pause/overlook mode and when I came back was locked in place.

It really sucks that saving every couple minutes is the only way for me to beat the missions.
