Desc:
A demonstration of a glitch, complete with instructions in the in-game messages. It is only a demonstration, there are no other distractions in here. It generally shouldn't break most maps, but it might break a few puzzles out there, sorry about that.

Not sure what exactly is supposed to be the glitch - I don't see anything unexpected happening, except that the guppy doesn't build the nullifier.
(Which doesn't work whether I follow the instructions or just make it build. Now that's indeed a glitch, but I don't see how that could be useful to anybody.)

Nullifier can be built under guppy like in this screenshot. :)

If you give the Guppy orders, then cancel them with "return to base" *before* the guppy is fully airborne(but after it takes off), then it clears the landingpad allowing build there, but still goes to the destination!!

toolforger

Ah okay, that seems indeed useful in tight-space conditions.
Question is what it will do once it's empty - just return, or continue ferrying packets.

Martin Gronsdal

I can see a potential problem here: if map makers start incorporating this in their maps, a potential upgrade of the game may make certain maps unsolvable.

If they remove this glitch from the game, this map will be impossible.

toolforger

I guess mapmakers shouldn't include it in their maps then.
Not only because the map may become unsolvable, but because it's such a hard-to-find glitch.

Wow, thanks for that tip! Been playing CW3 for over 27 years and never even thought to do that. As others have stated, I'm not sure how often such top-secret knowledge would be useful but that's still cool.

It's kinda like, if you're in a hurry to do your laundry then wash it in warm because it will pull from both cold & hot hoses and fill up twice as fast. Except that's probably obvious. This little trick definitely isn't.

Thanks for the pro-tip!  ;D ;D
You disagree with this sentence, don't you?

Can I borrow your TARDIS for a moment? I'll return it before I take it, I promise.

I'm guessing you don't realize that I *did* let you borrow it... five years from now. Next time maybe leave yourself a note?  ;)

what I want to know is how the frock does one discover a glitch like this one?

Not sure about how FatRat found it since he probably found it independently, but when I first found out about it I just did it completely by accident. I was sending a guppy to a remote location, then in the process of doing so decided I wanted to put something else there instead so I just told the guppy to go home. To my surprise, he still went to the destination anyway, and so did the other unit.

...and yet here we are, more than 4 years later and SOMEONE >cough cough< keeps including it in their maps.

Found this map again after such a long time. Was quite helpful in helping me remember this trick. It's been more than 15 years for me now. Went back to check out the pyramids being built and see what kind of extra-te...
