Only those that c-TheWay will be eligible to claim a swift victory. Even with a perfect opening the endgame is a bit spicy. All in all, a fast paced map according to my standards. Have fun!

I  C what you mean.
Big bold map and I almost gave it a pass.
Glad I did not. Good fun.
Thanks,
H

Congratz with your high score - Even with an optimal start that is impressive

Um... I think IC something you may not C. This is easily a sub-5-minute map.

I was about to complain about having to pick up all the items after killing the inhibitor, but as soon as I killed it - victory! Dude, THANK YOU for not making us pick up all the stuff to win. It totally defeats the purpose of a speedrun, imo.

I'll wait a while and see if others figure it out. I'm really not used to having the fastest time, but the solution seemed kinda obvious on this one.

Thanks for the map ;D, and double-thanks for not making us clean up the whole map!  ;D ;D
You disagree with this sentence, don't you?

I'm absolutely sure you saw something I missed - less than 5 min?     We were hacked  8)

Heh heh... ok, a clue then.

Spoiler
Hint #1 - When there's a map with an inhibitor, mass driver, and freeze... there's usually a shortcut.

Not always, but more often than not.

In this map there was not intended to be cuts that are shorter than I intended - I see scores ranging from minutes to many hours, that part I like though  :-*   So I'm really gonna have to try and reproduce what you found, I thought that stuff was safely tucked away for the endgame, but apparently it was not

I stared at those AoO for a while thinking I could do something with them, but decided against it. The times I do grab them, I tend to forget they are available.
I think two of the best pieces of advice about map-making are:
1 - Maps should only be as large as they need to be, and
2 - Don't put anything in a map that isn't needed.

In this map, you deprived Johnny H of many minutes of planning and executing his strategery for a 20-30 minute epic battle.  ;)

Thanks again,
H

I think you found all the intended shortcuts - thx for the advice, I just threw in some bonus material for the endgame, that really wasn't needed, and unintentionally blew it for Johnny H, who was able to find another way to beat the map.  So I think if I only put the Bertha unlock (which I think is really needed) then it would have been perfect.

Or as alternative, don't put delays on crucial emitters - I tend to do that, just because I can - and often someone still finds a way to beat the map before it even really started - but hey, on the other hand, it's their achievement, and I then learned something new as well (given I get a hint on how that worked)

Lol. I rarely spend time planning. Planning is time-consuming and stressful. But this map sounds enjoyable... I may be able to ignore the AOO's and run the map normally.

Please don't feel bad, or feel like you ruined my game experience. It's rare that I pause and try to finish a map quickly... but when I see an obvious solution it's difficult for me to resist it. And that's not a bad thing. If you remake this map and make it more difficult, I promise to try it...

So feel free to remake this map without the AOO's and maybe triple the output of everything just for fun.  ;)  I occasionally enjoy a brutal challenge   ;D

So far, you seem to be the only one that finished that quickly... I'm already working on a different map - maybe I'll slip in some brutality  ;D

Meh, Alter Old would cut my time in half, most likely. I suspect his mind is capable of establishing a direct link with his computer. Either that or he IS a computer... some kind of super-advanced AI machine that thankfully is very kind.

I'm looking forward to your new map!  ;)

Meh, Alter Old ...

He was amazing at this and there was another super star whose name was a combination of letters and numbers (AE4301?) who could make the magic happen.
He may have been the one who would post a video of his play-through, and even with the video you couldn't come close to his time.

Fun stuff.

Johnny Haywire

EA3401. And yeah, Alter Old is still around... he just beat one of my times (not surprised) that had stood for a couple months (surprised it lasted that long).

I'd heard a rumor that he was using cheat engine to get the fast times... and like a naive newbie I figured he had to be using something like that. But then I saw a video he posted. And just that one video was all it took. It's hypnotizing watching his effortless efficiency eternally emanating every second. That's why he's the Wheeeeesard from Anastasia... just a good-guy version of him. And I'm the little rodent thing (bat, was it?) just trying to figure out how he does that voodoo that he do.

Ironically enough, I'm not sure if you intended it... but the word "cheat" is in your title!  :o
