Indeed, the start was hard to get right. I had to re-think my strategy 3 times, and even then it was touch and go - I lost half the island in my last attempt.

And then the fun died. I didn't feel up to killing every, single. emitter. one. by. one. with. limited. or. slow. upgrades. and. no. other. option. than. to. grind.

So I thought this far proved my point and that it would be highly unlikely that I would lose. But I didn't want to spend the extra time doing pretty much none of the fun and all of the repetitive stuff for another 40+ minutes game time. So, let the record show "incomplete" for my attempt.

What was your time at that point, Karsten?

You could push north out of the central island to start taking out the spore towers. They are not in void, so you can use the PZs for nullifers and then for berthas and believe me, the map then suddenly becomes a quick mop up.

Man, I am in a hour in, and finally on clean up, but had to save for work. I actually started in the middle, and made my way north to take out the spores first. manage to do it with a bertha in one of the pz and a beam in the other, and jusdt work my way up.

That's similar to my method. I ignored the bottom of the map and just used the central island. But I used both PZs for berthas and had every free space using beam weapons. :)

Nothing sneaky, berthas on the PZs and got lucky nothing too crucial suffered a spore strike.

Excellent map in regards to getting going.  But the long slog was a drag.... 

Do another map with a hard start but then allow the cleanup to ramp up faster and faster and you have a good map.

We all like challenges.  Just not the slog...

Yep, nice map, but those PZ would have made it much enjoyable if they were level 1 like the connections.
