This topic is for discussion of ship #1180: Liberation

Size: 29x23
Designer: Decagon

Desc:
The human-built marvel of technology that was the Liberation Ship was at the forefront of many battles against the Creeper during the 2nd and 3rd CE. It was eventually lost when the crew was forced to perform an emergency Rift jump whilst local Rift Space was destabilised, sending the Ship crashing into the crust of an unknown world, where it remains until this day.

Keeper Decagon

Credit for the inspiration for the basic design of this ship goes to planetfall.

Platius' suggestions are beginning to bear fruit. Cloaked scouting drones sent to the coordinates he supplied have provided us with visual confirmation of a 2nd CE Liberation Ship within the Twisted Void. Of note, the vessel is accompanied by an escape pod of some sort, which appears to be frozen in time. Whether this is by intent or by dumb coincidence, these discoveries seem to corrobborate Platius' statements that the Twisted Void contains temporal as well as spatial distortions, and that the "Ticon Artifact" currently being studied in the Science Academy derives from a future civilization. Perhaps his doubts about the efficacy of Particulate Construct Theory are also founded.

Further readings from within the Twisted Void seem to indicate an unsettling prevalence of white holes, which might overturn our understanding of the structure of the universe. When I approached Platius about these readings, he became pale and started to gibber uncontrollably. He refused to elaborate upon this response. We should proceed with trepidation, but we absolutely must know more about the Twisted Void. Sage Dagr's task force in the Academy seems to have determined that the "Ticon Artifact" is a self-replicating weapon designed to combat the Abyssal Acid, and Dagr is beginning to make noise about using it to find and destroy the source of the Acid or the Void. If there is any truth to what Platius says, we need a backup plan in case we cannot reveal the Arc. Those of you with industrial connections, have a science ship constructed in secret and fabricate an ownership history for it. As my public persona is a Philosopher who would readily have access to science vessels, I can provide deniability. Dagr and I are somewhat close, and if I were to donate a ship to his cause, it would not be viewed with suspicion. I do not believe that the populace, or even the Queen, should know what we know yet. Revealing our existence in the current atmosphere would be... imprudent.

We must learn as much as we can about the threats we face, even if we learn that we can do nothing.

Pretty sure I'm supposed to be banned, someone might want to get on that.

Kinda neat. this has gotten me to create a few purely artistic ships myself(Things like the Acheron Forge Station).

News flash, I got that really wrong. its Chasm forge(its in space. what chasm?).

If that is a quote from the show, I think I missed it. if not, I still agree.
Again though, someone elses topic, lets not discuss this here anymore.
