45 DEGREE LINE

Anyone know a shortcut to building a 45 degree or any degree elevation on a map? its a pain going square x square. Example have a elevation of 1 and trying to build an elevation of 10 at a 45 degree I move up and over one then click it takes forever. Any help would be great. Sorry if the wrong place or a repeat I tried to find already. Thanks...

The easiest way is to zoom in, hold the mouse button to draw land, then hold W and D (under default keybindings) to pan the map under the cursor, at precisely 45 degrees. Inadequate zoom will result in a jagged edge due to frame timings.
