After selecting map 1 in the Exchange (Living Particles) and clicking PLAY it loads a different map (SpongeBob SquareLand)

You were in the beta... so you might have a view of the exchange before I purged everything.  That could cause some map IDs to be off in your local database.
I'd start by renaming this directory:
"c:\Users\YOUR_USER\Documents\My Games\particlefleet\missionheap\"
Then start up the game and it will populate things fresh from the DB all with the right id numbers.
