Can't the lathes on the mines only build struct?

Lathe on the mine is almost normal lathe. The only difference is, it builds struc faster. But it can do everything that other lathes can do with the same speed/efficiency.

I know what it does just it doesn't feel right seeing them collecting amp gems or even destroying emitters.

It's been said before. Since it's stationary, you get added bonus of lathing everything it can.
