Hey,

first of all, when I start this map, I get message from game(?) that this map was made with newer version of the game.
Second - my collectors didn't do anything different than usual, so not sure I understand the hint.

What version of game you have? Your version can be old.

Edit: I got same message. So what should this script do?

I don't know about scripting, just saying, that when I read "Sometimes collectors work just as well as cannons", I expected my collectors to do something flashy :P

And version I'm using - just regular version from steam. There hasn't been update in ages there.

Interesting script. I had a hard time trying to get in to attack.

Eventually filled most of the map with blasters to little effect, so I finally beat it by building a dozen sprayers and droppping them all on the front lines at once, and destroying them all for an massive instant AC dump. That bought me the time to build a nullifier.

There's something special for every built unit, not just collectors and cannons.

The tesla coil won't drop any creeper under a built unit or building nullifiers. If you just need to fill up some space, collectors work just as well as cannons. I preferred putting a couple of sprayers in 'always on' mode.

The newer version I have is from the steam prerelease beta channel, it just contains some updated internal code, gameplay is exactly the same.

Totally stuck on this map, the emitter pushes creeper under my stuff until they die and while it doesn't seem to be making a lot of creeper, it shows amount go up to 2000.

While building out your base, make sure you get every single cell covered. Any unit works. This prevents creeper from being dropped inside your base. Creeper won't drop on the two highest terrain levels iirc. If you can't expand, be brave and drop a few cannons/sprayers on the front lines, and move another unit to make room for a collector to connect them. AC and/or fast building times are essential for this to work.
It too long ago for me to remember the usual height of the creeper.
