Desc:
You are at the top of a well and must dig down in order to defeat the enemy. The enemy wants to flood the well with you in it.

Was it my PC really bogged down or the game during the beginning of it?

This map indeed is near intolerably slow during the early phase. On my i5-3570K processor, I only eked out about 5fps.

... but after a few minutes it's quite playable and entertaining

I have had the same problem myself, to be honest I don't know why.
Maybe it's a combination of map properties with a bug in the system.

Speed returns fully to normal when the decayable block at the center bottom is excavated or broken. At least, for me it is.
Hope you had fun playing anyway. :)

The gateway dig interval is too low. You should use at least 10...30. See discussion of  Map #1285

I tried to set it to 10, indeed that solved the problem. Thanks for the input.
I thought about reuploading the map, but on second thought I think I'll just take the information with me to a next map I create, seeing that this is my first CW2 map.

Cheers everyone.

cool, nice to have CW2 maps still! good map dude, shame about the lag, but hey ho, now you know!  ;)

I enjoyed it a lot!  But why not reload as version 1.1?  It would make for a much more enjoyable map for new folks.
Cheers!
