bot arena 3 is an old flash game and im wondering, did they steal from Virgil? go pl ay it, and tell me that the sounds in the shop of buying and selling, mounting and dismounting parts don't sound identical to collectors coming on or offline in CW1.

enabling and disabling the bot is the exact same sound as activating and deactivating a collector. someone please tell me im crazy.

and dismounting an item is the same sound as a blaster or morter landing. sorry for the reply to a reply, im posting all this as im finding it out.

Many of the sounds used in CW1 were not exclusively licensed for CW1.  So they could be used elsewhere potentially.  Some sounds were custom, though, and are unique to CW1.  But the ones you mentioned were licensed.

so if they were licensed to you is that not copyright infringement? and do you even care about that for such a small and insignificant flash game? cheers

Typically game developers buy the right to use an asset, in this case an audio asset. That licenses the developer to use it and sell it commercially (depending on the license agreement), but typically doesn't limit that asset from being licensed to others as well. Most likely the audio asset is part of some audio stock that anyone can buy a license to use in their product.

In some cases a developer could create their own asset, or pay for the creation of an asset and have some copyright ownership of it, and in that case it would be infringement for someone else to use it unless they had permission from the copyright owner.
