Wow!
I haven't cracked the start up code on this one yet, but I think it's my favorite game so far.
Tough, but doable.

I don't get a lot of time to play CW3 these days, but I'm glad I chose this one when I did find time.

What an awesome map!

It's my first yum CW3 map and I was wondering how well he would make the transition from CW2 map making.

The answer is 'very, very well'!

So many ways to play, so many tricks and traps, it took me two days and two complete restarts plus innumerable loads to finally finish it as economically as I could.

7:21.9!

Yeah...you could call that 'economical'.
Great score - may in a few days you could post some pix.

Thank You for good words! For map creator is very important assessment of their work.
Creating the first 19 maps and looked at the ratings from the players I decided it was time to stop and return to the CW2.   :(

But now I began to think about how to continue to be friends of CW3.  ;)

Nice to be on top of the leaderboard for a while - at least, for a couple of days, until ea3401 spots that TWO people have beaten his score on this map and decides to rectify things!!

Here are four screengrabs from my save slots which show a fair indication of how and when I did stuff.

Spoiler
Note that it is not necessary to take the fight to a lot of the runner nests and emitters - you can stand off some distance back.
Note that I did not mine ore.
Note that I did not use bombers, mortars, snipers, Berthas or the singularity weapon.
Use of Terps was minimal but mandatory, Pulse Canons were thrown in at the end just to protect against bursting stranded Runners - would have loved to not use them.
Use of PZ's was extensive - and don't even think of using beams without a PZ.
I only used the three Conversion Artifacts of Odin - though careful use of the Freeze could have helped me if I'd thought of it.
Don't worry about the Digitalis - just ignore it and it'll go away!

yum,

Please don't desert CW3 - I loved your CW2 maps, but I've barely touched CW2 since CW3 went into Beta.

CW3's where it's at, it's the way of the future!

It may take people a while to warm to your maps style - you make tight maps, but with a lot going on.

Some people are intimidated by finesse, and just want to batter away at the enemy with big guns.

(me too - but I also like 'elegant'!)

yum.  I hardly played CW2.  I stuck with 1 until 3 came out.  Your maps are my favorite.  They are so intricate - lots of juggling.

Thank You! You are wellcome!  :)

This is my first map with avarage rating 8.0 (my creteria of good map).
If my maps will be with rating more than 8.0 I will start to create new maps. ;)

@yum -
Don't focus on the anonymous "rankings". I have never been able to figure why some people vote the way they do, but I am convinced it is a waste of time to even think about it.

You have a large fan base and a lot of people enjoy the games you put together. If you publish a game that isn't up to your normal standards, your fans let you know.

Depend on those with enough nards to post real comments and ignore the losers.

What Helper said!

I look at the number of downloads and posted scores as a measure of success - though the two are not necessarily related as way less people finish a map and post a score than download it.

If they're downloading it, you've hooked 'em.

If they're posting scores, you've landed them!

forget the ratings Yum, they mean little really, like in CW2 they are more a hardness rating at the mo, hopefully V will develop a more rounded rating system, but til then just forget them. ;)

Yeah, don't worry so much about the ratings. With so many different tastes out there, it's hard to please EVERYBODY, and the ratings are an average of the opinions of ALL of the different player types. An 8 rating is setting the bar pretty high. With a ratings system like this, there is no one specific number that means it's a good map. It's all about relative ranking to other maps, and out of the 273 maps in CS so far, only 14 of them are currently rated over an 8.0, which is only about 5% of the maps! NO maps have yet to achieve and sustain a 9 average rating yet.
