Multiple Bombers sound horrible.

I thought there was a bug thread but it looks to be only about unfair game code or some such.

I just thought I drop a line and let you know that the Bombers "Bombing" sound gets corrupted or something when using multiple units. Sounds like ticking..."tick...tick,tick,tick...tick...") Had to turn off sound while they were in use.
(I could swear I saw a similar thread somewhere but can't seem to find it.)

Hardware settings say that the sound card is "AMD High Definition Audio".

As far as I know, the same sound can't be played within 0.1 secs of itself.

I wonder if there is a way to program the sound(code), so that if there is an overlap like that, the "extra" sounds get nullified?

Or just play all of the sound

That seems a bit excessive. Multiple bombers dropping multiple bombs, and having to hear all of them land? (I could live without sound for the bombs completely, but to hear them ALL, with all the other sounds going on, :o sound like a headache. IMO.)

I think we should hear some of the bombs. For example, if you have one bomber, you hear a boom every few seconds. Then as you get more, the bombs become more frequent until they hit a bearable limit.
I always play with the sound off so I'm obviously the best person to go to for sound-related advice.

The "whistle" type sound of Bombers is what gets to me. High pitches like that bother me. And my dog.  :)  The Strafers give off more of a tick, tick, tick to my ears. I was thinking that if you are into percussion, you could make a song just from the sound of Mortars, Cannons, Bombers & Strafers then climax it with a Nullifier going off. I don't have that type of software. Lucky for ya'll! lol

I think there was a post some where in the Suggestions thread about being able to turn off the sound for individual units. While I think that would be awesome, I also think it is asking a lot. I usually just turn my sound down very very low. I like to hear a little something going on.

Also, the sirens of Spores gets really annoying after a while. Of course, that may be because I have an extreme dislike of those things! Usually, in Prospector at least, you often have time to nullify those bad boys before they activate. If not, you have the visual warning above the bottom control panel to warn you if your sound is down, which is very helpful.

Speaking of the control panel (not sure of the REAL name) I sometimes wish that it could "float" to the side, or the top. Again, too much to ask. I often move the map by mistake when trying to access it. MY clumsiness.

Sorry for the long post! Got a bit carried away...

Actually, it would be nice to have total volume control.
Do I want to hear bombers? No! I'll turn them off but I'll still be able to hear everything else.

CleanOnion - We are on the same page exactly. I too would love to be able to turn off the sound for different units. Just wondering if we or "they" removed the whistle of the bombs falling, whether or not that would help with the sound timing overlap?

Nephthys - Yes, a lot of good points there. I get tired of the siren warnings too...but then again, I also forget sometimes and - although there is a red reminder at the bottom of the screen, it is there so frequently, that it fails to be an effective warning.(for me.) I have seen others, requesting a "movable" menu, so you are not alone there.
