Wow, apparently I'm the only one that gets crushed by this game. I've completed your other TD games but can't win this one for some reason.  :(   Anyone have tips?

hey dude, i replayed this one (loved yum's TD maps so not a chore! ;)) so i could hopefully offer some help.  (i had a 11 min+ time so i tried to improve it, managed to get it down to 6:51.6.)

the trick to this map is a quick and efficient start. press "p" when on the black "ready" screen so you will start with the game paused.
i started by digging one square of terrain below the central gateway (this allows the 2 outer phantom gateways to start digging the solid terrain), and i selected all the blasters and pressed "c" to disconnect them (i also moved them to be in pairs, bottom 4 on both sides went up to pair with the next 4, moved 4 down to make 8 pairs of blasters eitherside of the channel,) this allows you spend energy on building rather than recharging the blasters (which you can't afford yet).
i also dug for the reactor tech and the phantom coil tech.
then unpause and wait til you have the PCoil tech and build one PCoil in range of each of the phantom/dig gateways. then wait til you have the reactor tech and, efficiently, build reactors. i started by the LS and then just built them on the "outside" of the soild terrain (drones only come from the inner 7 gateways, once you have a PCoil covering the 2 outer gateways your safe from them, i also built MRifts next to these gateways so the dig packets could use the rifts another rift at the top of the blaster channel and it really shaves some dig time)
by this point you should have plenty of spare energy so reselect your blasters (in groups if necessary) and reconnect them again ("c" again)
i also set out dig paths to the CBomb, microrift, nullifier and DBeam techs when i had more than 15 energy, and started to build blasters covering the 7 central gateways (12 was just enough to keep the drones prob could go for 14), i also hollowed out an area below the gateways, filled it with blasters and built MRifts either side in the dig passageways to hurry the collection of the nullifier and DBeam techs.
got nullifiers, killed central 7 gateways, and once the outer 2 gateways had dug to the capsules killed them too and grabbed capsules.....win!  :D

I really appreciate your well thought out response. I actually (finally) beat this game after a few tries prior to seeing your solution. You certainly took a more well thought out approach than I did. I've seen your posts on other maps and I recognize that you're a good strategist :)

I did not move the blasters at all. This may have helped if consolidating them at the base near the gateways keeps the drones at bay. I found that I only needed the reactor and phantom coil to begin. My mistake was to go for the nullifier next. I found that the following approach worked. 1) Place the 2 phantom coils 2) dig below central gateway 3) build reactors as quickly as reasonable given energy expenditure 4) build additional downward channel outside the central channel to enable energy to pass the drone produced creeper 5) go for dark beam tech and place at top of central channel 6) light the beam up when energy is capable of sustaining (15+). Able to collect and place nullifiers at my leisure after that :)
