We've reversed the polarity of the tachyon warp reactor to generate a negative ion repulsion hemisphere, but it won't last for long!

Except that the shield doesn't fail. False advertising! :P

Much the same as the non-failing, imminent failure of shields in story mode. Nice parody ... or not.
