Another enjoyable battle!

I admit I approached this map with a bit of trepidation when I saw the "Something tells me that we're missing something" message. Rather than checking inventory, I assumed it was a Sorrontis-like reference and expected some unseen monstrosity to come from directly under the base and destroy everything. Only much later in the game did I notice what was missing. "Oh. That." Honestly, I don't think I would have noticed if you hadn't said anything about it.

I'm not sure why it's getting such low reviews. I'm sure it's from players who either don't or can't read the forums. As for me, I like the extra emitters, even though they don't give a PZ when destroyed. I think PZ's would make it much too easy.

Were the little two dots to the lower-left of the landing area just to make me ask what they're for? I tried a few different things with that dot and thought maybe that's what I was missing.

In any case, I'm really enjoying these new runners-that-aren't-really-runners because they're more dangerous yet less annoying.

Thanks for the map! =)
You disagree with this sentence, don't you?

I presume it's because the map is probably on the harder end? Based on some other feedback at least, it's not exactly the most lenient.

The two "dots" south-west of the landing area are related to

the "something tells me that we're missing something" message. If you haven't completed the supplementary map, it'll be empty and you'll get that message. To avoid spoilers, you can play the associated map to find out what would happen if you were to have completed it though...

Oh, weird - I didn't know you could include variables based on whether a player had completed another map or not. That's pretty cool and opens up all sorts of other possibilities.

What did I think was missing? At first, I thought "We're missing something" meant "There's an enemy or danger that you can't see." If you've played any of the more difficult maps by Sorrontis, you'll know what I'm talking about. You think, "Oh, this is easy!" then you see what you're missing.

Later, I thought that you were just referring to the terp tech missing. Now I see what you meant by that and I'm glad you taught me something =)

I think it would help to designate the smaller map as the complement to this map since that smaller map "completes" this one (i.e., you're not missing anything anymore), so it's more complementary than supplementary. But that's a very minor detail and the mechanics of these maps you've made are far more interesting to me than grammar & obscure definitions, lol. Describe it however ya want - the CRPL in your maps is the sigma rizz.

I'm just thinking how you could make a series of maps that would have to be done in a certain order to carry the weapon, tech, etc. into the next map. Not that *I'M* going to do that, but just thinking how it *could* be done. =)

I still am not quite sure what the "shield battery" tech does. Do you plan to include that in a future map?

Yeah, that's what the CW3 story-mode missions do.

Ah, alright. TERPs are disabled in prior S03 maps, so I couldn't think of anything else you might have referred to.

That's fair. I used the word "supplementary" because I figured people would still be able to complete this map without needing the other, although I don't intend on catering to the lack thereof during playtesting.

If you (or anyone else for that matter) do want to do so, I would prefer highly if I could finish S03 in its entirety first, but of course I can't stop anyone from doing so if they want.

The plan is that this map as well as all future maps will utilise all "techs" unlocked on S03 "moon" maps.

You can see all of the information of units featured in the latest S03 map(s) here: S03 info, which I will probably link in future map descriptions.
