Is this even beatable without the singularity weapon in hard mode?
I got creep emitters down to roughly 50% and anticreep ones up to 75/150, but I see no way to crack the emitter on the red gate without a singularity. Heck, it will happily survive even with singularity spam.

I got the first "formidable foe", which wasn't easy but not impossible either, but the other one... still ~100,000 per 1000 millis... how if I can't even beat 1800 on the red gate?

I see no way to crack this one with the singularity.  I killed the left amplifier but the right one I see nothing I can do.  There are also three other superemitters.  The one on the right can be isolated, the one on the left can be isolated with your blocker, the one on top can't be isolated and the right amplifier is utterly insane.

Took me ages to beat this one on hard. I can't imagine you could do it without the singularity weapon either. What worked (very slowly) for me was to have long duration singularity placed on an absorber so the creep doesn't build up and slowly knock it down with boosted emitters. Must be a better and quicker way but I couldn't see it! Still it was described as a hell mod and it certainly is.

Didn't think of that, but so far it's got me beat even on normal.  I got a bit farther but I can't crack any of the 4 or 5 digit emitters.

Yup, that worked.  Now to try hard mode.

It is. You don't even need a forge. For some reason this map has a bit of a weird "backdoor". It's easier spot to on the EZ version if you hover over what is in in one of the corners and think about something extra that the CC is getting and how to utilise it.

Not sure why the author left it there. By accident or not?

What corner are you talking about?
I'm seeing nothing unusual, except that greenish things in the top-right corner (a CRPL node I guess), which vanishes after you choose Normal or Hard.

I do see one thing:

Spoiler
There's an ore mine on the PZ near the top-left corner of the CN, so you can lift off the CN to spray AC over the map. One could use it to avoid having to slog through the areas protected by the blue stargates, so it's a help, but I don't see how this could be useful against the superemitters.

Huh. Weird.

For some reason,

Spoiler
an AC rain

pushed my AC emitter production to 700+ (as opposed to the measly 70+ I was getting without that trick), which made is very easy to overwhelm all the superemitters.

I have absolutely no idea what happened; later the production rose to 1500+, maybe for the same reason, but it wasn't instrumental.

It is.

Spoiler
Look at the EZ version of the map (after selecting hard). It doesn't hide it. It is in the top-right corner, a plus 100 power. Not sure where it is on the other versions. Doesn't matter where it is the effect is identical once it's hit and activated by the AC rain.

I thought the ore mine was a bonus trick to allow the player to get few power ups plus the weakener early using AC rain, but you'll end up triggering that hidden 100 like maybe like in 1 in 5 launches even if you haven't upgraded the AC storage and if you upgrade the AC storage it becomes almost certain. Kinda unfortunate because I thought it was an interesting idea otherwise and wanted to see what a highly upgraded (AC-storage) AC rain could do.

How?

How is the author thinking, that a normal player will find this out on its own. How?

WTF.
