Just realised what I missed!

A 3hr map and I'm getting my ass kicked before the 20 min mark! Well done with this!

Another one where I don't stand a chance when the 25s come on line.

The first ones can be stopped.  I can't get to the island before the next stuff comes alive.

It certainly looks incredible. But if guys like Loren and Domonik are struggling then the rest of us mere mortals dont stand a chance.
And yep wiped out in no time flat. Phew!

I loved the beginning.  Very challenging and it took multiple tries and many uses of "saved as" to get a foothold.  However, I did honestly feel it was too hard.  My biggest complaint is that I couldn't get to the only totem in the game.  In fact, it was the last territory I conquered so I never actually used the totem.  And the aether packs along the way were somewhat limited.  It may well be that I could have done something different, as in make a more aggressive assault on it earlier.  But it didn't seem possible until I drastically reduced the spores.  As always, thanks for the incredible effort you put into your maps.

ui - these posts surprise me a lot. I thought I had made a relatively easy start. that was probably in the pants. the rest of the game is actually relatively easy. you just need enough beams.
I thank you for your feedback. for this reason i put a simpler version online today.

I really enjoyed it, another epic battle. Agree with Hawgwash re the aether. Would have been nice to have a few 50  packs about halfway through just to speed things along a little. The totem island was also my last action, don't think I even had time to charge it.

Once you have the initial digitalis under control you have to start making moves on the spores in the upper right, I think that's the first place I used a nullifier. For the digitalis, 2-3 strafers is enough to cut it off at the source, and you can control the creeper by terping a 3x3 square up to the level of the perimeter near the thin north bridges and camping it there. My initial build is something like command node -> get the ore pack -> build an efficient matrix of collectors and two reactors -> once the collectors are down but reactors are still building, build 3 strafers -> once the strafers are launched, start building a sprayer and grab the ore pack -> once the strafers have full ammo at the pad, start building more reactors and a guppy to handle the northeast corner. A second guppy can be really helpful there to let you nullify everything. The cadence of this map is pretty demanding, you need to be building right at the edge of your energy production. You don't want to be building so much that you're starving anything, but you ideally don't want to have more than 2-3 energy at a time in the CN. If you build too much, just disable a couple of in-progress buildings until you finish your next reactor or whatever.

The first 5 minutes or so are reasonably easy, or they were for me, once I figured out that few strafers can manage the initial digitalis really well. However, by the 20 minute mark you need to have made significant progress to survive the pumped up waves, and the the first hour of the map demands that you keep a certain cadence in your expansion or the increasing spores will take you out. You can't spend too much time consolidating, you have to keep moving.

Most of your maps are "easy" if you have enough beams and power.  The hard part is getting enough beams and power.  My problem with this one was an inability to get onto the second island and an eventual death due to running out of energy.

Update, decided to have another try at this.  Instead of going directly for the second island I stopped off to collect the little blob at the halfway point.  This gave me a bit more breathing room and allowed more effective use of mortars against the second island.

As I expected, cracking that second island did it.
