Totally stuck on the start on this one. I usually build some collectors to take up the space that won't be immediately covered by creep, then build up two ore mines followed by a sprayer that I then use to clear one of the low ore spots and build a second ore mine anticipation of one of the two high ore mines getting swamped. I think that's the wrong start because I can't really build up from there, just hold out for a few minutes while my stuff gets overtaken

That's where I am, also.  Sprayers are nice for protecting against a thin layer of creep but useless against heavier creep.

agh. it's so obvious in retrospect

Well, it was still very difficult to get established, but I managed it! I have the worst time by a long shot, but there are only 9 completed times so I'll take it.

Yup.  I was thinking extra power.  It's still tricky but that approach works.

There are two unusable ore patches, but you don't get them until late enough there's no need of them anyway.

Unusable--they overlap with a totem and you can't place the ore mine.

ah - ok... this 2... shit happens.
but are the 2 ore fields really decisive?

I think the best start is:

Land both Cns, one in the goo and one on the platform.
6 collectors above the two CNs, all will die but for $1 each they are a bargain.
On the left build 1 ore mine, 1 mortor, 1 sprayer. Move sprayer to just below the spore above the CNs.
Build 2nd mortor on the opposite side and 2nd ore mine. You may need a couple of new collectors to keep the the sprayer connected to the bottom CN when the top one dies.
Reland the CN that died to boost power and build a nullifier to take out exclusion and spore.
Reactor on the PZ
Whilst charging the nullifier you can turn off resupply to the mortors and turn it back on as needed.

As I said, by the time I got to them there's no need of them.

HA!

Really enjoyed this one too, although my strategy was a little different.

I decided to try it using one blaster, one terp, one guppy, one sprayer, and one sniper.

Now that's got me to wonder if I could finally get my "1" map rating if I remade this super-cool-looking map into such an impossible nightmare BU-WWAHAHAHAHAAA!

This is another cool map and looking at the comments, it's a pretty ingenious idea to make the best strategy such a dangerous yet logical one! I might try this again to improve my 6-hour time, lol.

Thanks for the map! =)
