Maybe I'm dumb, but I have no idea what to do here. The AC just sits there not multiplying at all, and I'm not sure if I'm meant to manipulate it in order to do so.

Build shields IN the anticreeper.   It multiplies till it's at a certain debth and the shield pushes it out of the pit.  It will continually multiply to refill what the shield pushes out.

..... huh. I never would have figured that out on my own, I had no idea depth had any effect on breeder. Thanks for the info.
