A couple of questions:
Is it possible to grab all four playing pieces from the main area before running to the "safe" area; and
How is the Sam Hill did you finish this version faster than the prior version?
Thanks,
H

Martin Gronsdal

hi, you better get all four, yes!

oh, I could have finished this even less slowly (compared to all others), had I not made

oh, and btw, it's also fun to get the nullifier tech ;)

Here's a step by step guide on how to win (or at least how I did it):

Step 1: Place a collector to claim the reactor at the start.  Wait until you have 6 energy before lifting off, so you can save time not having to land later.  Head to the upper right first, pooping down a collector to get the cannon and bertha, then make for the beam in the lower left.  If you upgrade movement speed your command center should have the proper scoots to make it in time.  At this point the top spore will be firing, you may want to leave a couple extra collectors so it targets them.  Finally you can move back to the safe area to chill next to your forge, make sure to deactivate the totems so you don't waste energy on them (you'll have plenty of upgrade juice with the siphons there).  You'll want to start with 2 beams and a reactor, you can wait a little bit and let the forge take some damage before building a cannon.  Upgrading energy efficiency is key, beams are cheap but you'll need energy to keep them filled and there's barely time to build up more than a few collectors.

Step 2: Eventually get overrun because there's too many spores and the glass walls are starting to melt.  Give up and decide to make an account on the forum to share.  Lie about winning to make yourself feel better.

ratings are soaring for this map ;)

6 people rated it, for an average rating of 1 ;)

Sorry to break that perfect record. but I upped the average a little.
I can't see grading a map a "1" just because it is too hard for me.
I made it a little past the 5 minute mark and have everything under control.
Building lots of power and could do the Bertha's next, but I won't.
At this point, it's not a lot different from the first version, which I played through completely 4 times.
Without PZ Bertha's, I think that jump to the lower portion is going to be an even worse bloodbath.
Thanks for the fun, now I have two YumBug maps I've started and trying to get through.
Take care,
H

Dear Anonymous,
Great comments and thanks for the tips.
They allowed me to survive and get fully established.
If I'm not mistaken, your wordsmithing has given away your true identity.
Remember your promise to only use your super powers for good deeds.
;)
Thanks,
H

LOL - love the comments on this post.

I didn't play the previous map, and I actually don't mind restarting a map if needed. I did have to restart after my first attempt b/c I just didn't have enough of a power grid to support the necessary firepower.

To those struggling: You have a LOT of free aether for fast upgrades. I chose to go all power & build speed at first, then focused on firepower. Oh, also movespeed helps you grab all 4 of those doodads in the beginning. I don't think these would be "spoilers" since to me they fall under the category of "math". You need income BEFORE you buy things, contrary to what society would have you believe.  :P So crank up the power and build reactors like crazy.

Oh, and for those of you who don't understand why $1.00 that you save translates to about $1.40 or more that you earn... here's another helpful hint that you likely would miss
Spoiler
Disable the totems until you have plenty of power. Use the power you have to develop more power rather than spending it on stuff that won't produce enough of an initial benefit until you are actually able to afford a secondary investment.

From there, if you need more hints please just ask. I will say that I never realized how powerful hundreds of blasters can be.

For Martin - I enjoyed this map quite a bit, even though at first I really thought I wouldn't. It's not absurdly difficult and it forces you to try new strategies. I did see the little surprise mystery item and knew it was something hidden there, but didn't know what it was until I did it a different way. Had to laugh a bit for not having guessed it first.

For everyone else - you totally can do this map. The two PZ berthas more than make up for the lack of mortars. Your brain thinks better when it's relaxed so take a deep breath and relax. You can DO it!  ;)

Thanks for the map!  ;D ;D

You disagree with this sentence, don't you?

You'll want to start with 5 beams
, you can wait a little bit and let the forge take some damage before building a cannon. and after colector reactor beam  1 by 1

up energy build cannon north ouest and wait until protection destroy after go to north ouest
