Hello! I'm not dead yet hahah! #CRPL: - Charge an artifact with 1-3 energizers to survive the enemy onslaught. - SUPER HIPER EPIC BOSS FIGHT What you should know: If not energized for a while, the artifact will pull the creeper towards it and will damage your units. When fully charged, you'll get everything you need to beat the boss and finish the map. For experienced players. Detailed info on forums.

After more than one year... I'm back!!

Ok, let's go straight to the point:

- There's an object located north, and 4 located south;
- The object located north will spawn the boss at 30 minutes mark and cannot be destroyed;
- The big object located south is the artifact, while the other 3 objects are the energizers;
- Energizers can be network-connected, and requires ammo packets to work;
- When operational, energizers will charge the artifact;
- If the artifact does not receive any charge from the energizers for 30 seconds (90 seconds during the 1st cooldown if I remember), it will get unstable and will unleash a radiation that damages your units (only weapons and CNs are affected) and pulls the creeper towards it (you can see it by the "Stability %" pop-up text);
- Energizers can be damaged by the Creeper. If ANY of them gets destroyed before the artifact is fully charged, it's MISSION FAILED. If they get destroyed after the artifact is fully charged, then there's no problem.

Controlling the energizers:
Click on it or press the hotkey* to activate/deactivate it.

* Hotkeys are 'U', 'I' and 'O'. From left to right for each energizer, respectively.

Read the dialogs because they show key info.

Notes:
- Destroying all the emitters and spore towers won't finish the map. Destroying the boss is all you need;
- Luck may count a lot after the boss spawns, but if you started with a nice build-order, then you'll be more than prepared to fight it as soon as the game hits the 30 minute-mark;
- Projectiles fired from the boss WILL destroy power zones, ore deposits, etc. This is INTENTIONAL.

EDIT:
Fixed: Boss spawn at 30minutes-mark;
Also fixed some typos.

Boss Information (read this if you're having difficulties dealing with the boss):
Spoiler

Shields: 1000
Health: 5000
Notes:
- The boss only becomes targetable by the main cannons if there's at least one ship near. With "near", I mean the range the boss starts firing missiles -5 cells. So, you must be risking at least one ship to be able to damage the boss;
- The translucency of the shield (the white ring around the boss) is the amount of shields it has. It's not directly show by a % amount, but even if not diminishing health % when taking hits, the boss IS receiving damage, but damaging the shield instead of the health;
- Health does not regenerate, but shield does. After a while without taking damage, shield starts to regenerate. It regenerates slowly, and will take much time to reach the maximum value of 1000 again. So, don't worry with it. As long your ships have a lot of energy, a maxed attack against the boss will considerably damage it's health;
- Once reaching 75, 50 and 25% health the boss will permanently "enrage", having increased move speed, increased firing speed and higher amount of missiles per missile attack;
- Missiles deal area damage, so do not put all your ships in a single cell or adjacent cells.

Welcome back! I am just building up the nerve to tackle this one  ;)

I probably also need a free evening!

Thank you! Please give it a try, I had this map project 50% done before I had to stop, but then I recovered and finished it.

It may seem weird the first time the boss spawns, but then after one or two tries it become pretty easy.
I've updated my first post to show some key information about the boss, which is very useful to know.

I have the popcorn out and I'm just waiting for the show to start!

Edit - boss nailed all of my Thors. Try that again tomorrow!

D0m0nik

So 8 Thors all in range, fully charged firing all cannons quickly took just 26% off the health. They now have to retreat and I just wait doing nothing for them to recharge (although one needs rebuilding). And I need to do that three times. And hope that the boss doesn't drift into my base. That's a long, slow and slightly dull fight! Shame as the map was great up to that point. Sorry if that sounds a bit harsh.

JoaoPistori

Well, I guess boss health was "a bit too much" high. I was trying to balance max health with thor's max damage output (at maximum energy) and thor's recharge time. Certainly it was a fail.

Ah, it takes ~25% of boss health with maxed shields. This means the damage done was ~1250+1000 (shields) = 2250 damage total. Next shots takes significantly more health %.

Next time I might give increased shields and reduced health. So, the first full-energy attack would not kill the boss, while there would be no need to wait for a 3000-energy recharge again to deal high % damage to health. Allowing the boss to take hits from other weapons (beams, nullifiers, snipers or even pulse cannons) can also turns it more interesting.

Thanks for your feedback, negative or positive they're super helpful.

D0m0nik

Yeah sorry it was a bit negative, I was a little frustrated! I love your maps though, the build up with three finely balanced, independent bases was excellent.
