I tried sending a couple of Guppies to the right side, but can't keep them established.

Great game, but a bit beyond my ken.

Build a few berthas and use that single PZ for a relay. Using the berthas and a fleet of blasters you can connect straight to the bottom of the map with the PZ relay. Once you get a foothold on the south area, it's about 4 minutes until victory.
