Great advice!
There are a few easy to pick up PZ's and you're going to need them for power and Beams.
That little island looks hard to take, but is not.
Get that as quickly as you can for the Totems.
I'm going to start all over and make some attack changes.
The old military adage that "No battle plan survives past the first contact with the enemy" is in full force here.
Try it and you'll see what I mean.
AlexX - Thanks for the fun game.

u're welcome.

i too will need to restart, or at least reload a save spot...
that central island is a pain... perhaps a load of blasters in waves???
i was hoping snipers would get an AC farm going but not so far for me... ??? ::)
Not sure what the trick is with that island.
My first play through I just hooked up PZ Relay, one PZ Mortar (set to Digi), dropped in one Sniper - and the island fell pretty quickly.
This time it took forever, even after I dropped in a Cannon.
(So...after typing that, I just went and looked again and it seems someone forgot to set the Mortar to Digi.)
Oops! I might have to hop in the way back machine on this one.
Other thought - I wonder why this is taking such a beating in the Ranking? It is on the difficult side, and you know it's going to be long, but I thought it was a GOOD long battle.
Just spotted the new one for the day. I think the full title starts with "Into the..."
;)

the important thing is - to place the mortar on the left pz - not on the right one

maps that need a bunch of restarts and reload to get a good time tend to get down-rated.
people don't like hard maps most of the time and this one is, if not "hard" hard, at least "hard" adjacent... 8)
loved this map.
My approach was probably different. Very different.
tell us more :o
nice time!
Almost 17hrs, that is a new record. I am impressed!! ;D
I did it without any units that attract spores, until I had killed enough of spore towers to start building a base and withstand the remaining spores.

:o
this is how it looked like when I started to build the base.
You are insane, stark raving cuckoo!
ok. won't upload a map for a while then

It's ok, this is a safe place for lunatics :D

i'm with the others here dude... whaaaa ???
that is the most bullheaded approach i have ever seen, i am very impressed at your dedication to the strategy you chose!
so 17 hours game time is approx how much real time for you?
it took me several days, as I didn't play more than maybe an hour and always on 4 x speed.
I used a lot of ore too....
oh, every now and then I did save and test my ability to start building the base. When I was able to sustain the spores it was mopping up.
mine is not the fastest approach so far, but this was 20 mins in or so...

LOL!
Here's an oldie from the way-back machine..."Different Strokes for different folks."
A little bit of Sly and the Family Stone.
Nice to have non default map terrain. But too much phantoms (spores).

But too much phantoms (spores).
that's exactly what this is supposed to be about
hey, nice to see someone else had the same (or similar) idea to try to conquer this map with non spore related units. I tried to cover as most of everything in AC, building AC pumps with sprayers on AC field mode... it was enough to power two sprayers on power zone. Was quite fun for a couple of hours, but eventually it was necessary to build up a real base as range of sprayers and CN is restricted of course. Also, I tried to load sprayers and fly them over to nullified fields (top corner) but this took too long.
Anyway, quite a fun map! Thanks :)
there is actually something after 8 hours that takes too long :-)
So my solution was overtime?
