I liked this map a lot!
Yeah really good. Sometimes this type of map can be very linear but this one can be done in so many different ways. I didn't go top left until the last minute and then noticed the totem!
Would have been nice to see more action bottom right but didn't detract from a top notch map.
first unit I killed was the
Spoiler
potentially nasty spore tower
Thank you both. I will now try to play the map "normally". So far I've only been in developer mode :-)
Are you the mapmaker Rennervate?
How did you intend this map to be approached?

yes... I'm still trying to figure out the best way. I've restarted probably 50 times already. I've decided to always stop at 40 minutes and try another method. Unbelievable how fast D0m0nik was again.
maybe he'll tell us that one day
I built the base on
Spoiler
the white spot, but killed the 8 spores spore tower first, or rather made it possible to kill it

My focus was just to get the maximum amount of reactors built whilst defending from the spores. I didn't expand much at the start, just took the few islands to the bottom left of the CN landing spot and got the forge up and running. I sent a guppy and a few cannons top right to get the aether. The key with this one is not to overstretch, to properly turtle is actually the fastest way!
nice
in general I don't like maps with limited aether scattered all over, where you have to make it possible to fly the CN to get pickups and solve almost impossible riddles, but this one, somehow, I did like a lot!

Thx. I tried that similarly. but I can't come close to your great time. I'll try to optimize then :-)

we agree on that. it wasn't my intention at first to create such a map. but then one thing led to another
my comment was a joke, take a look at my maps and you'll understand 8)
your map is very good!

How do you get to nullify the emitter next the white landing spot and the 8 spores spore tower? I can place a nullifier next to the emitter but I can't deliver energy to it. Similar with the spore tower.
there are several ways to do it. One is not what you'd ever imagine.....
you could also fly a CN back and forth and feed a nullifier that way....
Ah of course, never thought about that. Now I'm intrigued about the other way, what is it?
you still have to fly your CN over that piece of land with the aether capsule....
Spoiler
and you may then either allow the forge get all the aether or destroy the capsule
then... you can build a nullifier and feed it with a guppy....
Sorry if I'm being thick here but I can't see where I would land a guppy to reach the spot with the aether pack, next to the big spore tower. It'd be great if somebody made a video playing this level!
Anyway, thank you for answering all my questions and the map looks very original.

Thanks for the tip.
no problem mate. I've asked for tips many times here and people were always friendly and helpful, this is a nice community, unless you'd make a difficult map 8)

Grrrr!
You'd know all about THAT!
LOL!

then it's about time you made one :-))))) ;D
tempting
Wow, lots of discussion about this one and I can see why. This would be a fantastic map to remake with the pause and save disabled, but I'm sure it would generate a lot of hate. Maybe Martin can do that since he doesn't mind that so much, lol.
Really enjoyed this map and found myself taking several steps backward when I couldn't move things fast enough. Had to restart once because something went wrong and I'm not even sure what hit me. Great job with this one!
Thanks for the map!! =)
