Use orbital weapons to keep the creeper to the north from destroying you. #Flip emitters #Other emitters #Runners #Spores #Void
Is this even possible? I can't get land because of the 4 emitters. Any tips? :(

If you mean the 4 emitters close to your base (with the walls), you can connect them so they will produce anticreeper instead
I know. But I can't turn them to Anti fast enough.

Try putting the CN in the upper right of the base and build a siphon on the energy pack, then you have a direct connection to the first two, when they make ac build a relay so you have all 4 connected, be sure to build some reactors and collectors while you're at it though
hope this helps
Also: lol at the 6 people who gave a 1 for rating, don't rate badly because you can't do a map, I'm not very far with the map and get killed everytime but i like the map anyway :P
Also, Jason, why are there so many spores? and why am i not seeing how I can either nullify them before they launch or build enough beams for the same reason. I got a nice cozy base up with abrely enough power to get those emitters up and running, and the spores messed me up completely. helllp? ::)
Haha, yea, this one turned out a bit more difficult than I had intended... The trick with this one at the beginning (or at least what I did) is:
Spoiler
1) Land your CM so that you can build a siphon but such that the 4 emitters aren't connected
2) Build the siphon
3) Build collectors and reactors and hook up 3 of the emitters by building a collector in the mass factory to the east - you can't afford to connect all 4 quite yet
4) Build beams and reactors again and again, then activate a couple mass factories
6) Build a relay between the 4 emitters to hook up to all of them
7) Connect to the convert factories
8) Build guppies
9) Use the converts and guppies to take out the spores on the side islands
Anyway, hope that helps!
May as well go all out.
Spoiler
If you're going to use guppies you may as well take out the Inhibitors.
The fun part is that doesn't end the map because you still need to gather the Berthas and Thors.
Thanks for the help jason, I'm getting there now, built a base (2 mortars help to keep the creeper in check at the left+right side of the base :) ) guppies for aether, I'll see if I can complete this ::)
Edit, next time, leave out the freeze orbitals ::)
Edit Nr 2: keep em in, still need to switch/connect all those emitters, its fun
Edit Nr 3: Fun all the way, didn't realize you let the flipmitters support digitalis, so then you have me hunting runners with MASS AoO's ::)
the extremely high cost of the orbitals is annoying, especially since we get to pay twice! :o
but other than that this is a fun map, even if it's a tough start.
nearly got to the point where i can inhib kill (i miss clicked my freeze so i have to pay, twice, for another! grrrr) and then i need to speed grab the items i guess.
good work dude, but perhaps just half the first energy cost for the orbitals would turn this from a fun map to a great map. 8)

You know what is annoying about that cost? it takes too long to get em, unless... max your building speed, see it getting faster and faster, because you build those artifacts, no ammo needed ::)

at no point did i max build speed. does that really help much? ???

Yes, apckets go to the factory thingies much faster :) packet speed helps too

still high energy costs though, about 30 mins of my time was waiting to have just enough mass and converts to collect the items ::)
I missed what the "M" things are for and how to use them.
Thought they were moonshine jugs, and Lord knows you have to stay away from that stuff.
Are there specific instructions somewhere?
Thanks,
H

You can click on them to enable production of AOOs (the type being indicated by the letter). It's very slow, but upgrading build speed will speed them up.

I'm not sure about the factories (haven't yet played a map with them), but you can build everything in just a few seconds with max build speed... as long as you have the power (higher build speed=higher packet deman per second).
I'm not sure why this map has such a bad rating. As Anti-creeper maps go it's one of the better and more ingenious maps out there. I had at least 4 restarts before I even figured out my starting tactic and then one more to account for the spore waves. After that - a bomb-fest in the extreme.
Hint: Guppies are never targeted by spores.
Very good map - keep on map-making!

Doh! I totally missed the freeze to destroy the inhibitor! Nice find. And good suggestions on the other items, including the instructions. Not sure I'll post a V2, but we'll see what else folks come up with...

do it! with a lower cost for the AoO's please! ;)

I second this ::)
Maybe make the cost for converts not so extremely high as its now (600 packets) and keep the Mass the same (250/200 it is i think). Probably the best to keep the freeze AoO's out of it or make them so expensive it'll take 5 mins on max buildspeed to make one ;D. Maybe set the factories to produce the AoO's for a cost of 200, but make the packet request lower? ::) ::)
I find myself continuously replaying the starting sequence to see how I can optimize it...getting past the spore waves and not running into a huge energy deficit is a challenge.
And I've just figured out the "ultimate strategy." next time... :)
Now all that remains is to figure out how RnR dis it... ???
I honestly didn't think this one had much of a difficult start. Maybe that's because I started on your lowest-rated (i.e., hardest) maps first.
Whenever you have an energy gem to siphon, once you hook up to it build as many reactors around your CN as it will feed. Think of building early energy as an investment - the longer you can produce your own energy, the more that will stack up later. On my first run, I took a guess and built 10, and hooked up to only 2 of the green emitters. Once that was all done, I still had some energy left over so you can maybe build 11-12 right off the bat.
Notice that the spores don't launch for several minutes after start. All you need to do is just max a powergrid while holding off the creep and then build a ton of beams. After that, you can expand or do w/e you want.
BTW, this won't win you any speed challenges. This is just a safe, easy way to start that will require no saving or pausing after the initial build.
As for the map itself, the orbitals are very enjoyable to play around with. You can use Freezes as walls - think of them as perma-shields. Or, as others have mentioned, if you want to go in for a quick kill just take out an inhibitor with a freeze + converter or mass driver.
Jason, your maps are really creative and I'm really liking how you come up with slightly different ways to use similar features. I hope you're still making maps, because they're consistently a perfect balance of being challenging and fun!
One thing to note - I gather that freeze artifacts will halt Spore countdowns and Runners, too.
