Just so happened to have the game saved right after killing it. I was thinking I staggered the spores a bit, spreading them out so they keep hitting the base regularly rather than having them all hit at once. Looking at my game save file, I was more than 8 hours into the game (lol) so I most likely let it just run while I did something else.

Hey Johnny, thanks so much, but I've *tried* to kill that stupid thing on the right and can't seem to get enough spores onto the target to make a difference. It drops to maybe 80% health and then heals up before the next round of spores can hit. I've switched everything to spore launchers, just as you said, and tried to sync them to hit at the same time to deal with all the beam defenses, and it's just not doing anything.

I'm trying to figure out if there's something I have to eliminate first, but I've tried everyplace I can think of targeting without much success...

I built the ships inside the power zone.
Notice the screenshot: production is 73, consumption is 36, yet "store" remains 0.

If you like PH's maps, you'll like this one. Looks like very few have managed to beat it though.

Since PH isn't around I can't thank him for the map =(

Did you read my earlier post from long, long ago? I don't remember the map too well but I think the explanations make sense. You have to kill that multi-shielded thing on the right but be careful to only hit it in the center otherwise it'll build PZ beams on the corners. If I remember right, it takes a while to kill.

I took a slightly different and easier approach. Sorry for being lazy but that's how I roll.

I just charged the artifact with a couple guppies and went right to the bottom, set up defenses, and then use the other artifact to get the berthas. Berthas cleared the middle enough to land terps which made an easy landing for the guppies.

The only thing I struggled with was the psychology of ordering sprayers to fly into the middle of a creep vortex to get some AC.

"Surely he can't be serious. There's gotta be another way. Runners? Nope, they all drop regular creeper or nothing at all. Hidden ore mines under the totems? Nope. Sigh, ok." - That's basically what went on in my mind.

The "AC" description is what intrigued me, so I download the map. I didn't see much AC so I was about to ditch it, but I saw only two scores posted so I decided to give it a go. Decent challenge with a few tricks thrown in there.

i didn't get that issue while i had a bash at it dude, sorry... i have had ships struggle to build using power ships rather then inside the power zone ring projected around energy mines, are you building using ports?

Ah, hate both of those things, but I don't think the lag was that bad. Maybe I built less stuff, I dunno.
