Hey Loren - this was my first save. Sorry for not saving earlier but maybe this will help.

If I remember correctly, everything was a bit tighter at first. I used the sprayers to keep the AC that had come over the walls at bay. I'm sure the start could've been better but once something is working ok, I just go with it.

All you really need to know is which of the nests has the AC runners and then you're golden. Guppy trick is helpful, but I'm not sure if it's necessary.

Runners. Lots of them. They all needed to die anyway.

Some people may not know what to do with this map so they might need some instructions. But some people need instructions for Pop-Tarts so I mean, why not?

How much wood would a woodchuck chuck if he ate too much of it and went on a roller coaster? That's the kind of question you should ask before playing this map.

Overall I thought it was pretty cool because it wasn't crazy difficult at any one point, but it remained the right level of challenging throughout.

Thanks for the map! =)

i subscribe to the alien kidnap theory, definately not forced labor to finish this one.
Must admit i failed to fully investigate those suspicious yellow and black arrows till it was so late in the game they didnt matter :P
Almost worth replaying too see if a different strategy would be faster.

Hey Loren, no worries m8. It was pretty rough starting on the bottom left - I think Dom's location was better.

By the time the 15s start flying, I'd say you need the following:

1) Three power zones, each with three beams that you can rotate around as needed
2) To have grabbed the aether pack on the right
3) Two or three other power zones supplied by guppies
4) Enough of a power grid to power all that
5) Forge upgrades: At least level 2 RoF, level 5 build rate (to resupply beams), and maybe a range upgrade

OR

You can just use the "Lazy Dude" technique. Just land on an island with a spore tower & a totem, build a forge and just let it spool up overnight. Fully upgrade everything and either fly back and forth to zap stuff, using the singularity perhaps, while keeping the forge powered up or just destroy everything you can using only your CN and then build a ton of beams and send to each of those locations. That's a pretty boring solution but it'd work.

Hope this helps!

While these aren't my favorite maps of yours, they're still really fun. Runners are my ick, I suppose, even though in maps like this I agree that they're a necessary evil. Not sure why the island maps are so cool, but in these kinds of maps they're almost not islands. Spores are very yes. Great job with this one.

Thanks for the map! =)

I still find myself completely unable to cope with the 15s and I can't understand how you guys are doing it.

Spoiler
Collectors, then 2x ore + 1 sprayer, more ore + sprayer as needed, mortars + blasters + reactors as able to build, then beams. Don't forget to build an occasional collector outside the wall for a little extra power.

Seems completely hopeless to me.  I can't keep the digitalis dead, the bugs get in, I die.  A collector outside the wall is a pipe dream, I've never had a space outside the wall period.

Late to the game here but I did what stdout did - started on the bottom left. In hindsight, I think the larger islands would be better because of expansion speed, but I'm pretty sure you could survive anywhere you land if you're strategic. The problem is gauging how much to spend on energy production vs. acquiring new PZ's.

Worst-case scenario, I suspect you could beat this by just flying the CN from one island to another and picking off what you can, then building beams like crazy, then building a power grid to support it. Not the most fun scenario but probably the one which would require the least amount of thinking.

This is a very interesting battle, and I'm really glad you didn't make it any easier than it is. Great challenge!

Thanks for the map!! =)
