Any tips for beating this one? Or even just getting started? I always get overwhelmed, or the survivor pods get destroyed. I can't figure out a good opening strategy.

The way I beat is is to build 3 collections on each side pushing out towards the left and right edges, and putting up 2 mortars on the sides.

Once the mortars are build and get off at least 2 shots each, I disable them and start building SAMSs on the bottom ledges

1 SAM at a time. You need to keep an eye on the creeper level on the sides turning on and off the mortars before it overflows.

Once you survive the first missile wave, you should be able to get up some reactors and expand to get more energy.

Take a back pad and build up things the spores don't target.
One mortar should keep the Creep at bay for a while...

Wow, I really tried a lot of options for this one (didn't read the comments first, which is always pretty stupid....). I tried flying to the back as well and you'll probably like it that this isn't the best option for a fast time. ;)

After about 8 tries I decided that 2 mortars would be the best approach and now I read here that's exactly what you intended. :P

Very nice map! :) I prefer the landscapes of parts 1-5, but the game play for this is one is very good as well and I understand a city has to look different.

Just one map left, so I guess it's time for you to start creating new ones! Or is Starcraft 2 taking all your time nowadays? That would be a shame....

Really an interesting game.
I gave up after several tries and 'flew' back to try the safe route.
Now that I have a score posted, will try to do it the right way.

A lot of fun!

[Edit - 2 Mortars and 3 SAM's is the way to start - but the timing is just a bit 'tight'.]
