Spore Towers fire Spores which create Creeper on impact. Spores travel slowly through the air until they reach their destination. They can be shot down with Missiles, which will not create Creeper. Spore Towers can also create Eggs. Spore Towers can be disabled with a Nullifier.
A blue tower will only fire Spores, a yellow tower will only emit eggs and a blue tower with yellow spots will do both.
Spore Towers send a certain amount of Spores every interval. Each Spore needs 2 missile hits to be taken down[Citation needed]. Spores that reach their destination and impact with terrain will release their payload.
Spore Towers have editable attributes, which can be modified using the map editor:
Start Delay: The amount of time, in either frames or seconds, from the moment the map is first unpaused to the very first spore launch.
Launch Interval: The amount of time, in either frames or seconds, between spore launches. (Set to 0 to disable spores)
Payload: The amount of creeper each spore releases upon impacting a surface.
Count: The amount of spores launched each interval.
Target Type: Can be set to 1 of 3 values:
* "Random" picks a random spot(s) on the map to target.
* "Structure" picks a random unit(s) on the map to target.
* "Location" uses either the "Target Loc" defined below, or can be programmed with 4rpl.
Target Loc: The X & Z values for the “Location” setting above.
Egg Start Delay: The amount of time, in either frames or seconds, from the moment the map is first unpaused to the very first egg production.
Egg Production Interval: The amount of time, in either frames or seconds, between egg productions. (Set to 0 to disable eggs)
Egg Only During Cutoff: If enabled, eggs will only be produced during creeper cutoff.
Egg Count: Amount of eggs produced every interval. (Eggs spawn bundled together and move together if more than one is produced at once.)
Egg Defensive Ratio: The ratio of eggs that will stay near the Spore Tower vs eggs that will launch out and attach themselves to other units. (1 causes all eggs to launch out, while 0 causes all eggs to stay near the Spore Tower.
Disable Minimap Warn: If enabled, the minimap will not warn the player of this unit's impending attack.
