Forbs are created by Skimmer Factories placed over Mesh. They will move around on active Mesh and create small amounts of Crimson Creeper. Forbs will also throw Glops (bubbles of Creeper) into the air, which deploy their payload on impact. Forbs and the Glops can be targeted by Snipers.

If a Forb is shot at by a sniper, the Forb will become angered and focus its Glop throws at the sniper(s) that shot it.
