Storm Nodes are the grey clouds that float above the land; they'll also have text floating above them, showing what kind of payload they'll release once their timer counts to 0. They will never spawn inside an activated Relic's range, but once spawned, cannot be removed, until it goes away when its payload is released.
The Storm Node's minimap icon is a purple vortex. Hovering over the unit(specifically the grey cloud part) or the minimap icon will show both the payload and time until that payload is released.
There are 5 kinds of payloads; each one is a standard creeper unit.
Orbs can be taken care of by snipers, and don't need anything else. They drop creeper when they stop on the ground.
Eggs need both snipers and shields, if spawning over a base. Shields prevent the eggs from depositing creeper on top of it when popped, and snipers to make sure the eggs get popped over shields and not over some defenseless towers.
Skimmers need snipers. If over a war front, shields may be recommended to block stunning shards from falling on top of key defenses.
Spores need missiles while in flight. Alternatively, utilize cannons at the landing zones.
Airsacs make defenses hard. Fortunately, they are vulnerable when spawning- they spawn low enough that a few missile turrets can take it out before anything happens, if close to player controlled land. Barring that, snipers are needed to stop the blob chains from raining on supply lines.
