Nullifier

The Nullifier is a player made unit that is capable of permanently destroying enemy structures.

Unit Stats

A Nullifier requires line of sight between the middle tiles of itself and its target; unlike other units shields block this line of sight1). Once fully charge and has a valid target in range, the Nullifier will begin its firing sequence. The firing sequence takes 5 seconds and will stop if the Nullifier takes too much damage or there are no valid targets in range. Once the firing sequence completes, the Nullifier itself and all valid targets in range are destroyed; even if they did not start in range of the Nullifier.

Unit Usage

The Nullifier is a unit that serves as your only normal means of destroying enemy structures. The core idea for using Nullifiers is to use your other ships to get a Nullifier in a position to permanently remove an enemy structure. Combat ships fighting through bots and creeper is the normal way to achieve this, though terraforming can sometimes give you easier access to a target structure.

A Nullifier can be moved after it is built and charged, building nullifiers in a safe location before they are needed is a common strategy. When a unit needs to be destroyed, a Nullifier can then be quickly dispatched and the target destroyed.

Just because shields block line of sight does not mean they can't be used to defend a Nullifier while it fires; shields are excellent at defending the flanks of a firing Nullifier. Instead of shields, careful terraforming can leave terrain on the flanks of a firing Nullifier to protect it.
