Unit Move Orders

There are various ways to move units, or to change their formation.

Unit Selection

Multiple units can be selected in a number of different ways.

In most cases, Shift can be continually held to keep selecting units while using any method of mass selecting units.

Formation Move

Holding G (Formation Move key) with multiple units selected will keep their original formation.

The Formation Move hotkey can be changed in Game options. Default is “G”.

When moving units, holding Formation Move will attempt to keep the original formation of the selected units. The formation may be slightly broken up by irregularities in terrain and other obstacles.

Holding G (Formation Move key) with multiple aerial units and then holding the left mouse button will spread out target markers in a line formation.

When pressed for aerial units (Bombers and AC Bombers) the selected units will not fly in a line behind one another, but instead next to one another, thus providing better aerial coverage of an area.

To do this, you must select multiple air units, hold Formation Move, then hold the left mouse button on the start position and release it on the end position.

Squads

UI panel in top left of the screen after selecting multiple units.

If the same group of units need to be moved as a group, they can be marked as a squadron and then the squadron can be selected for future move orders.

Select more than one unit. The “Create Squad” button will appear in the units' command options. Once clicked, the flashing box around the units will change color.

When any one unit in a squad is selected, the “Select Squad” button for that squad will appear. Clicking it will select all the units in the squad.

Units can be reassigned to different squads by following the above procedure.
