Rift Lab

The Rift Lab is the central base of operations, as it dispatches Build and Ammo packets to connected units. Towers connected to the Rift Lab will create Soylent, which generates energy. Units without a network connection to the Rift Lab will not be built or resupplied unless supplied by Porters.

The Rift Lab counts as a Pylon in terms of packet movement speed, but not the special Pylon connection range, though the Lab still has a higher than normal connection range.

The Rift Lab is capable of dispatching packets while moving, making it possible to reposition the Lab without breaking connection to the network.

The light at the top of the Rift Lab changes color depending on how much energy is being stored inside the Lab. Once energy storage drops below 50, the light will gradually go yellow, and once it drops below 25 it will start going red.

The Rift Lab has an enormous amount of health, at a whopping 10, and will also sound alarms if it is being damaged.

Should the Rift Lab be destroyed, it will undergo a 20 second respawn time, after which it can be re-deployed. This can prove catastrophic, as the moment the Lab is destroyed, no Build or Ammo packets can be dispatched, which can result in major losses.

Rift Lab is additionally a host to several options pertaining to packet distribution. They can be accessed by clicking on the Rift Lab itself.

The options are as follows:

“Dispatch Packets”
Yes/No - Build
Yes/No - Ammo

Unchecking either of those options will prevent the Rift Lab from emitting the specified packet type completely.

“Priority Build”
Yes/No - Towers
Yes/No - Miners

Checking either option will cause the Rift Lab to dispatch packets exclusively to the specified unit, if one has a pending build order. It will prioritize Towers over Miners if both are checked. The setting will not prevent sending packets to other unit types if sufficient energy generation is present to satisfy all build requests.
