Great map... Go Go Go worked... Though just a few seconds after that first overwhelming spore barrage fired...

Maybe a version two is needed. Better aligned perhaps but I dont know how. Is there a grid overlay somewhere to help with placement? I usually just go by eye which is not a strong point of mine.

no grid but we can use the units to "map" out a map.

first thing is multiples of three, all basic units are 3x3 "blocks" wide and tall (Berthas are 5x5), so if you want the largest size map that will be symmetrical you should set the map size to 255 x 255 (default giant is 256 x 256).  For small maps do a multiplication of 3 and add 3 to give you a map you can easily make symmetrical...

then what i do to let me set up a symmetrical map is before i click the "edit map" button i place reactors from corner to corner, which gives me a single reactor "ghost" prebuilt unit in the exact centre of the map.  from there it is much easier to plan out where things will go and make things symmetrical!

hope that helps dude!
