From my point of view, the map was worth pimping up a bit...

The map looks great but I just cannot get started (a bit like your last one). After many attempts nothing I try works. No power and am overrun by creeper within two mins. Some assistance please?

at the start u need 2 mortars /left & right near the CN. one sniper to hit the ac bugs

Interesting. That is pretty much the idea I was following but I am overrun by creeper on the left side just as the first mortar is built! And the end is very near after that.

Try to keep your energy bar right at "0". Trying to build too fast is the usual cause of slow growth.
I started with 3 Collectors, then 3 Reactors (just one, then two at once).
While those last two Reactors are building, your power meter will start climbing into a positive number.
As soon as that happens, start the first Mortar.
When the power number turns positive again, start the second mortar.
This is what my screen looked like at one minute.

Thanks for your help but Im going to move on from this map. I followed your instructions but at 1min 10sec LH mortar to left is good,  the second mortar on the RH side is not yet complete and creeper is already on my CN. Same layout as you showed and always just in the green for power.
Maybe im running this game on hard setting? Thanks again.

OK. Understand you're moving on.

Just for future reference, you can cheat a little bit on power and keep it just slightly in the red.
When I'm cutting it really close on building something, I will keep one of the units I'm building highlighted and 'deactivate' it if the power starts getting too far in the red, then activate it again.

Try that some time on a future map.
