Do I did a playtest of the following:


  • Disable mesh tendrils / autogrow. (Somewhat irrelevant, I just dislike this mechanic.)
  • Edited mesh to cover larger area around the sleeper main base / area
  • Spread out all spawners (except tanker and skimmers) across the map.
  • Gave each spread out spawner 3 mortars, 3 cannons, and 6 towers as additional defense
  • Put ants and Heli closest to player start

Map took longer to complete, but was much more enjoyable.
At map start you still get all the units coming after you, but once you took out the ants and heli, you felt a sense of pressure easing.
(With ants gone, auto-defense targets chasers more.)

And after I killed the searcher, it felt like the map suddenly opened up a lot more.

So I think just giving the player the option to kill off some of the unit spawners without having to conquer the entire map already makes a large difference.

It's not like we are forced to play your maps. I'll gladly skip all of them till it's fun to play.
Not saying you shouldn't be playing around with the sleeper, I like how progress on that is kinda being made.
When you want an explanation for something I use in my levels, or if you want to suggest something, feel free to tell me. Just don't ask/suggest things every other day please :P

Hahaha me too, I didn't win by a single skill, except to stay alive, ac takes over the map and wins for you, I didn't put even an ac

But I love the idea of these maps, I just think they're forgetting that this is cw4... so the ideal would be to stay within this concept
